So I'm looking for an art commission...

I was curious to know if there was anyone here that could personally recommend an artist for commissioning. Preferably someone who can make my gardevor x renamon inflation vore fetish do character design and environment design (If they specialize in something, please specify what they are specific to. And several artists are OK).

I know deviantart has some actual talent to make whatever furry smut fetish I have in their site rather than the meme that their all "bad artists" and that deviant art is not the only place that I can hire. I simply wanted to know if anyone has already worked with someone and can personally attest to them so that I can hire someone with a good track record / testimonial.

A Link to their portfolio is requested.

P.S. This is NOT a guarantee that I will commission something at the moment. So if you're plugging your or a friend's commission, that's cool, just know that I might not ask for a commission now as there are things I have to sort out at the moment.

P.S.S. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM LINKING TO PRAWN HERE, IF YOU WANT TO RECOMMEND THEM SEND ME THE SFW PAGE, MOST ARTISTS HAVE THAT.

P.S.S.S. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO, THEN PUT IT IN A SPOILER PLEASE. THANKS!

I'd try asking over at the conceptart.org forums. Some great artists over there.

I do know a very skilled artist, but alas, he only does work for money, even for me.

All artists do, I'm not asking for free art. Go ahead and link him.

Any specific artist you want to recommend?

No, I've never commissioned anything. If I ever did, it'd be quick for reference sketches I'd use when modeling. I'd try to find some artist yet to find real popularity (meaning cheaper prices and shorter queues) with a good line economy and sense of volume in his or her art. Searching for keywords relevant to the designs I'm after on some art site with latest->first sorting seems a good idea.

Very well, I shall write an e-mail to him right away. He does not have any webpages or such...erm...he is quite a private person, however, he is a very skillful one, I can assure you. But...let the reference picture talk.

And he made this out of crappy 64×64 featureless Wolfenstein-ish figures.
Currently, he is working on a cutscene picture for me - an even better and more elaborate one. :) Please tell me if this is what you're looking for?

Looks pretty OK, what are his rates and how can I contact him? I promise I won't use his email for Nigerian prince scams or gay porn sites.

Here's a protip: if you actually describe what you're after, rather than listing every conceivable weird or kinky thing you're not intending to commission, you might get your results a lot quicker.

It's also important to note that while your demeanor here may be different from how you interact with whichever artist you end up commissioning, artists love a clear, concise idea and what you intend on using the art for. Is it commercial? Is it for a hobbyist project? Will it be used anywhere else? What is your budget? These are really important.

If you're looking to get a drawing or two done, I'm sure a couple of us here can throw some names at you, but honestly, this is entirely based on "hey, what do you want?" I wholeheartedly suggest using Tumblr to find commission artists as there are a lot of fantastic artists on there, which is where I found the artist for my current project. But like Jimmy said, this really depends on what you're actually wanting and what the scope of the commission would be.

I am also available for commission. I can do pretty much anything you ask me to. I specialize in giant mechanical objects and environments but I have been practicing my humans and humanoid anatomy pretty intensively of late.

FUCK I HAVE TO RETYPE THIS, SCREW YOU CHOPPY INTERNET AND NOT SAVING WHAT I TYPED IN THE TEXT FORM.
As this is retyped, some ideas might not come out well, please go ahead and ask me for clarifications if need be.

I intend to do that one on one with the artists, makes it easier to correct, clarify, brainstorm and change if need be. I'm simply looking for artists, and as I stated above, I don't intend to commission NOW, but in the near future, I just want to have a list of artist that people have already worked with, I don't want to be the "commissioner that scams the artist" nor "the one who got scammed by one".

And I have several kinds of request that vary with each other, which is why I may need different artists.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

I intended for this thread to be a resource for people who were also looking for commissions and as a way for me to find artists people have worked with before. I tend to prefer working with people with testimonials, even in real life. This is still the internet, it's not like people can't lie or scam others. I trust you guys for the most part, and if you've already received a commission and forked over money, chances are you already trust them and can recommend them to others.

And with regard to "what do I want?", I simply want to know any artist that draw concept art for environments and charachters. Even if they don't fit the style I want for my current project, it might fit another one I have in the back-burner or future.

Any chance you can direct me to the artists you ave worked with or are they busy?
