Yeah, the OldUnreal patch doesn't include the DRM wrapper and has Epic's approval.

i don't hold as much nostalgia to Unreal anymore as i did before, but it's still a good game to get for free like this.

Re: The Free Games Thread
227i isn't a necessity. You can play the game just fine on 226 with Kentie's DX10 renderer, though later versions of that renderer are apparently broken on newer hardware (thanks to the cruft for appeasing hd packs) so you'll have to use an older one for Unreal to look right.
(I personally prefer the old 98 releases though, putting UT's menu over Unreal and slipping in Sonic Mayhem's sounds early in patches just feels very tacked on...)

Re: The Free Games Thread
I loved Unreal and its short sequel, Return to Na Pali. Basically that and Unreal Tournament are my 2 only favorite Unreal games.
Speaking of free games, does anyone still play One Must Fall 2097?

Re: The Free Games Thread
NO. Please take new conversations to the gossip thread or make a new one. I hate to be the one to kill discussion but it has been clearly stated that this thread is for sharing games, not talking about them. (the occasional response to someone's link is okay i guess)0mrcynic0 wrote:Speaking of free games, does anyone still play One Must Fall 2097?

Re: The Free Games Thread
fuck man, all the unreal discussion is seriously making me want to reinstall and play through the game again. even though that would seriously be like the fifth or sixth time I've completed the game since the start of this decade. that's maybe just uh, a little stupid? Few games have this effect on me, if I'm honest, but unreal definitely is the biggest.

Nice, that's one I'd always been curious about, though it kind of had its thunder stolen by the actual XCOM revival at the time. I guess now we'll see if it's good!
