'Ahoy' the man with a narrating voice of gold
Ahoy (previously known as XboxAhoy) has one heck of a voice for narrating, whatever subject he would talk about i would still listen to him all day long.
Originaly he would do COD weapons videos, but he as now started doing series of videos on other stuffs, recently he made videos on old school games.
Wolfenstein : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSb87DC-PtA
Doom : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A4-SVUHQYI
Quake : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OipJYWhMi3k
Half-Life : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bp5vOgz8vyI
Also i must say his video editing is quite good, must have taken him quite awhile to make those.

The best part about his videos is that he actually does his research.
Re: 'Ahoy' the man with a narrating voice of gold
I find the way he speaks and his self awareness about the "radio voice" is a bit too theatrical, but I've always really liked the actual content of his analyses.

Just started watching the DooM one. Looks and sounds like I could turn on A&E and see this. Definitely seems professional.

All I found was "it's ball lightning coming from the cacos" when I watched the Doom one.
Just watched the Soul Edge one too.

I find him a bit tedious, myself. He's long on cool graphics and clever turns of phrase, but short on in-depth analysis. Compare his analysis of Quake's to Errant Signal's and it seems very superficial.
I'd love to see Super Bunnyhop give his take on Quake, he's probably my favorite of all the YouTube game pundits.

I wish these were shorter, I watched the Doom one thinking it was short, as it went on, I was like... when is this video ending? Turns out I'm only 20 minutes in and I've got another 30 to go... :V Would love to watch the others if they'd be more compact...

I kind of understand what some of you guys are talking about.
But in a way we can compare it like a movie and a documentary.
Sure, you can find other videos made by other peoples wich are more fully in-dept analyses, but how much of these videos are just plain when it come to the quality of a video.
Ok yeah,Ahoy didnt add every informations that exist on a subject, but at least he does give us the basic ones and some of the important/historical ones,so one person can jump on his videos and receive at least a good amount of knowledges.
But what's interesting is that his videos are theatrical for the reason of making them entertaining,i can watch them until the end without getting borred.

Half-Life is also comparatively brief, at 17 minutes or so, with Wolfenstein 3D being only a little over 20 minutes.DoomRater wrote:Soul edge one is like 10 minutes.

Say as anyone also seen any of his videos on the history of some of the most iconic guns, they are also pretty interesting.

Seeing this video about the FAL makes me want to see more battle rifles in Doom. A weapon with a hard punch, low clip size.. and a beast to try and..

I never really liked the iron sight on the FAL,the view is not good because of that dense circular part and that V at the tip of the gunbarrel is also a bit too dense.
That's why i always use a different sight (ACOG scope for exemple) if i ever decide to use that weapon.
The M14 on the other hand, now that's a iron sight i like to use.
