Here's one for you guys,while looking at covers of movie themes,i stumbled upon this interesting cover of the Escape From New York theme,i find the visual in the video quite nice.

This may not match the genre perfectly, but it's as authentic as you can get.

(From what I can tell, most genre labels are just a device for people to feel superior to other people who "don't get it".)

How about something that sounds like it comes right off a VHS tape? (It'd be even more convincing with the right visuals.)
