Well the first part is unfortunate, but I am glad the reinstall fixed things for you.HazeBandicoot wrote:Edit: as expected nothing got fixed, so i went ahead and did a reinstall of Windows 10, allowed me to keep everything that wasn't an installed app, things are fixed and much faster now, this lappy needed it.

You might want to hold off installing the new Nvidia drivers for a bit, then.ibm5155 wrote:Windows 10 is still the only os where my dual gpu system Works just fine *__*
Re: Windows 10
Still? It's been like that since November, with my computer. I can't even use the new drivers on Windows 8.1, it simply makes applications crash.

Re: Windows 10
I guess that's why I didn't have any problems this far. I always use manual installation because I don't want the 3D vision stuff.Nvidia has released a statement saying that the problems lie in the express installation settings, and that it is “actively investigating the issue”.
Also
Update: Nvidia has released a new driver, 364.51, which it claims solves the problems caused by the faulty driver.

Re: Windows 10
Oddly enough, I was asked to update to "only" 362.00 and it's working fine. Yay.

Re: Windows 10
And Microsoft is still reissuing their "get Windows 10" crap via "important" updates. You have to check anything that's not labelled a "security update". (Hopefully they won't find some justification to label it as that, too.)
Shame on past me for thinking this "free upgrade" could go anywhere good.

Re: Windows 10
It should be good, but like with Windows 8, Microsoft went their own direction with Windows 10. So it's both bad and good.
I've been troubling with the idea of upgrading to Windows 10 for some time now, and have actually considered upgrading a couple of my active machines to it and leaving the main one on 8.1. There's just too much that I don't like about Windows 10, though.
I will conquer this territory someday, though! >_> I made Windows 8.1 work just how I wanted it to - made it work better than 7 even - there's no reason I can't do the same thing with 10, eventually.

Re: Windows 10
It's an AMD gpu + Intel (notebook) they Always fight for controlling to control my screen brilho (So it was Always stucked in full bright, unless I uninstalled the amd gpu drivers.wildweasel wrote:You might want to hold off installing the new Nvidia drivers for a bit, then.ibm5155 wrote:Windows 10 is still the only os where my dual gpu system Works just fine *__*
But I saw that I'm a specific case, since most people with old amd gpus + intel gpu, couldn't even boot the system

I get the feeling that my computer's going to upgrade itself to 10 when I'm not looking. Has it improved any since the last statement I made?

Re: Windows 10
I hid the automatic update on two computers and it hasn't tried to sneak itself around that so far.
