What Got You Into ZDooM?

If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Enjay's Runaway Train map was what got me into Zdoom.

Y'know, I'm actually not quite sure.

I got Doom on Steam years ago specifically to mod it, but at that time I wasn't in love with the game itself (shocker!) It just fell outside of my gaming range at the time, which mostly consisted of JRPGs and Sega games, I think. Years later, after getting an NVIDIA Shield Portable and running out of PSX games to emulate, I tried Doom again and was blown away at how much horrific fun I was having! The rest is a blur to me, but since then I've been combing through every old-school shooter I can find and trying desperately to make mods for them.

I've played lots of Doom Legacy back in the day on Doom Connector. As well as ZDaemon and Skulltag. What really drew me to ZDoom was wildweasel's The Stranger. It holds a special place in my Doom-filled heart. That's it. :D

I don't actually remember how I found it, but Enjay's operation liberation thingy had me hooked.

I will admit I have Xaser to thank for getting me deep into making my own weapon mods, and weasel for encouraging me to stick with it, because he saw the theme in one of my first bex patches. (Then TDA turned it into a full blown WAD)

Can't remember but around 2003 i think i was searching more source ports for Doom besides Doom95 and Doom Legacy, fortunately i found ZDoom and liked it's flexibility for awesome things, so in 2006 i started my first project, since that i never changed to any other Source Port, of course if GZDoom counts too.
