I can't take Sad Satan seriously. When one of your ideas of horror is playing the song from Hong Kong '95 backwards, you need to open up a dictionary and look up what horror is.phantombeta wrote:@Ravick
If you mean the Sad Satan I'm thinking of...
That game has a version that makes you part of a child porn botnet, so, uh... There's also a fuckton of real gore on it.

Only thing I can add is maybe the Dark Cut series if you can handle gore... Dark Cut 2 was especially crazy by the end.Vaecrius wrote:Eversion (if it seems completely inappropriate at first, keep playing. play through to the end.)

Any info about the famous Limbo sequel yet? As far as I know, it shall be titled "Inside", which is an even more enigmatic title. I enjoyed the first game unbelievably, so I can't wait to get my filthy little paws on the sequel. All I know it is not out yet, though it was going to be released this year originally.

I just playtested this Swedish dark-gothic-gangland mixture game. Not the best, to say the least, but might worth giving it a try. The full review can be found in the "Bad games to avoid" topic, if you're curious.

Dreamweb if you like low-fi Cyberpunk and the unreliable narrator Schtick.

Previously stated, but, naturally, System Shock 2, the first Bioshock, and BOTH the DS and PC versions of Dementium II. And there's also this cool little game called DooM . . .

Kirby's Dream Land 3? :v
(To not be totally useless, I'd like to mention Alan Wake. But it's already mentioned on the first page so uh...)

Time to go a little more out of the depth area.
Closure- not sure how dark the theme is, but it does play with light based puzzles where the darkness is literally nonsolid and you will fall through it.

Freespace 1 and 2 (mostly 2). They have a very dark and grim atmosphere to them, the ending of FS2 is shocking to say the least.
