Once I fooled a shareware program's watermark by looking into its exe, discovering a PNG file signature inside, and after extracting it and confirming it was the watermark image, I overwrote it with a PNG of a 1x1 image consisting of one 100% transparent pixel. Since the new watermark was smaller than the original, it meant there was some garbage data left over after it but it didn't matter in this case, the offsets in the file were unchanged so everything worked as before.

Any clue for fixing compromised files like this? I've spent 90 mins to upload it...

i'm afraid the only way would be to buy it, the only other way is an illegal way which none of us recommend.

I know even the buy or the illegal thing, but if I'm not able to fix it, I'll choose the OPEN SOURCE solution... BTW, thankx Peter.

No, I don't think the file is salvageable. You have to re-record it with something that does not damage the output.

@Gez
About the fooling thing... you mean open the exe with some hex editor, with 7zip or decompile/recompile it?
