Here we go again...

First, Kaiser posted these incredibly cryptic photos in the #dtwid IRC. Here's one of them:

Then, on some online radio podcast show majig (Season 3 Episode 10, 28 minutes in), Night Dive CEO Stephen Kick outright announced that they're working on remastering the Saturn port of Exhumed/Powerslave for digital re-release on PCs.

Could these two factoids possibly be related?!?! Spooky jazz hands?!?!

Nothing wrong with more ports, but I wish they'd get cracking on Doom 64 EX's next version. Hell I'd pay for Doom 64 remastered like they did with Strife.

Doom 64

I wonder if they'll include the DOS version, too. It's not as good/interesting as the console versions, but it's still pretty fun!

It'd be nice if they got their fingers out and actually got the GOG release of Strife done.

Yeah I've been wondering about the GOG release too. Still hoping it gets the full VE treatment rather than just dumping the DOS version on GOG and calling it a day...

Anyone got any idea why the name was different in the US and European markets? I believe that Powerslave was a reference to an Iron Maiden Album but why wasn't that used in all territories?

Saturn version of Quake

The Saturn version of Quake was awful, I unfortunately owned it for a while before selling my Saturn collection and all of it's subpar games.

I hope they make ammo work like the dos version. By which I mean not every gun uses the same ammo.

The console versions of Exhumed cannot work like that because they were specifically designed with the universal ammo thing. Unless Night Dive decides to completely change some of the game mechanics they shouldn't do that.

Quick unrelated nitpick but since when did factoid mean fact?

......Saturn port? OK, I'm surprised......wait, Kaiser? hmm, make sense. :D

Considering the DOS version one is based on Build engine, maybe they want to avoid some licensing problems(?), I guess...

(In my own opinion, Saturn version's engine isn't too bad but just feel...so weird...and the Duke3D port for Saturn which using the same engine also have the same problems...not tried Quake but whatever...I guess I tends like DOS one for no reasons... :P )

Yeah, too early to judge it...maybe the end-product maybe better? :?

Doesn't your mod based on PC DOS one?
But, don't know that new port by ND will adding things from the DOS port...
