Name of the old robot film

Post by adx »

I have a very vague memory of this film so I'll just describe some of the things that could still remember from it. I'm really having a hard time finding this on google.

They're robots or animatronics and it seems that the two couple robots wanted to go or explore the forest for some reason. One thing I could remember is that they're scared of thunder/lightning.

They have some sort of battery that kinda look like a big VHS tape.

The ending I think is their battery ran out of juice and the two robots stayed in the forest holding hands.

Was it called "Heartbeeps" starring Bernadette Peters? It's the only one I can think of that might fit your description.Hope this helps. :)

Just from the title, I wanted to answer Metropolis since it's probably the oldest robot film. (Now, oldest robot theater play would be RUR of course.)
