  • 2x1600x1200 20" IPS displays (NEC 2090UXi), one with touch sensor
  • Bluray, ZIP 750, floppy, and memory card readers

Thinking about upgrading when Skylake comes out. Will finally have to let go of my floppy drive though. :(

That is a quad core processor; the first 8 core i7 came out a couple months ago.(The i7-5960x)

The 8 CPU nuumber comes from the system, courtesy of Hyperthreading which makes it think it got 2 CPUs per core.

I thought hyperthreading on mainstream CPU's only added 2 "cores."

Nope, and the hyperthreading "core" isn't that powerful. 'tis why I got the Core i5 over the Core i7 -- there is literally no real difference whilst gaming. However, if you're doing video rendering - then you'll see a different outcome.

You should probably sell the 660ti. You have a 980, you don't need dedicated physX card. Unless you play at high resolution.(1920x1080 is not high res, it's the standard resolution.)

My laptop disagrees (1366x768). 1600x900 is usually enough for most anything right now, even 1024x768 is still supported by everything today.

Supported doesn't mean standard. Also 1920x1080 laptops are actually pretty common now, and a desktop monitor under 1920x1080 is pretty rare.
