Snakes and spiders can both be a lot more dangerous than they look like, so having a sort of instinctive fear of them makes sense.

Personally, I'm okay with snakes and spiders, but I can't stand centipedes. (Millipedes are okay though.)

You put a centipede or millipede within my line of sight, and you'll see a grown man revert to a small child running, screaming, from something scary. Holy shit I cannot stand those things.

Oh, so you are talking about venomous and "scary" animals, uh? Allow me to tell and show some things about the place I live.

Two or three weeks ago, my wife called at my work because a snake got into our house. I run back to my house to deal with it, however, as I'm against killing wild animais, I managed to trap the snake inside a tapawer:

It was, actually, the second skake-event here. At the first one, my wife just saw another snake trying to eat Frigufina, our buddy tree-frog.

Fortunally, Frigufina managed to survive, and can be seem here bathing in my aquarium:

Well, but snakes are quite rare here. The common wild predadtors are big spiders. There are lots of big Lycosa, orb-spiders, tarantula and others, but my "favorite" are the brazillian "Aranha Armadeira", a species recognizable by its massive size and its peculiar body posture when confronted:

As an end, if you have lots of 'big' predadtors, you certainly do have even more big preys for them to hunt. Here is a picture of a massive species of wild crockroach that was at my garage's wall. Despite that, unlike domestic crockroaches, this wild crockroach hates to get inside houses, and it only lives outdoors, where it does not bother anyone.

Well, when I see the subject here I just wanted to share it. I hope someone may find this as neat as I do.

(edit: oh, BTW, I've found a centipede at the bathroom once, but I didn't take a photo of it. )

Man, they are HUGE! Honestly never seen that large spider and cockroach before. All what i saw was itty bitty snakes, small mice and some Smokybrowns. Glad you're okay.

Fortunately for me, i never seen an "Armadeira" like the one Ravick showed up (known as the "Brazilian Wanderer Spider", also the most venomous spider in the world, [GET OVER IT AUSTRALIA]).

But tarantulas (not so venomous) and scorpions are quite common in abandoned places, or houses with high humidity and old wood houses around here.

I've heard Australia has plants so poisonous that, when stung by them, even horses jump of cliffs because of the unbearable pain from the poison.

Where I live we have big wolf spiders there black and have little tiny hairs like a tarantula and banana spiders. Then we also have is the brown recluse spiders. Now the brown recluse spiders are very dangerous because they carry Gangrene and the only way of knowing is to look on there back and see if there's shape of a violin.

Changing the subject, just watched "Braddock: Missing in Action III" (1988) with my wife. It's a very cool movie!

It has a nice timing and it's not 100% predictable as one would think. Also, Chuck Norris surviving missile attacks a load of times. =p

Got myself a Raspberry Pi and proceeded to almost brick my workhorse PC trying to get it to recognise multiple SD partitions. I just wanna load up Metal Slug, give me a break.

How do you brick up a PC making it do that?

The reason why you can't read multiple partitions on a Pi SD card is because one of them is formatted ext3/4. You cannot read this in Windows without a special driver, and even with said driver you probably should not manipulate such a partition because the naming rules on Linux file systems is too far different from Windows to use the other's bug-free. (In other words - do so at your own risk)

That being said, if you need to transfer files, the best way is to connect them via Ethernet. Linux includes Samba and can connect to your Windows system via network and can transfer files that way. Another option is to activate the SSH server on the Pi, and then transfer the files using Filezilla on Windows.

Pretty much, in other words - once you've written the SD card - you should be done using it at all on Windows except to back it up or install a different operating system.

Nightmare really, truly sucks to oblivion when you still realize that you had a nightmare yet your head doesn't feel so good... I haven't seen any nightmarish things recently, so whaddya hell?

Started playing Morrowind again. One dungeon in and I once again got fed up with the bizarre hit-or-miss combat system. So I am now playing Morroblivion instead.

Oblivion itself gave me a massive headache to start with. After MW let you rebind practically everything, here you can't even change mouse buttons. I had to hack at the INI to make it work how I want it. Even then, AutoHotkey was necessary to work around its hardcoded use of the F-keys!
