Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
Just in case anyone wondered where I've been lately: I've just gone over 200 hours in Stellaris. I also bought a second DLC at full price.
It's damn good for a Sci-Fi 4X, is what I'm saying.

Yeah, I agree. My flatmate hooked me up and I've been knee-deep in Stellaris for the past 2 weeks. Had to break away from it to do my own stuff, but I definitely look forward to it again. It's the Master of Orion we wanted, but never got.

Breath of the Wild has been good fun over this vacation but I think it's time to get back to business. Well, amybe I'll recover from the trip and pushing myself to finish the drive in one night first. Holy crap I can't make long drives like I used to.

Advance Wars isnt an rpg though, it's turn based strategy. There's no stats or levelling up or anything, and units are disposable, compared to FE's permadeath. Funnily enough, the upcoming Wargroove is the exact opposite: Advance Wars in medieval times.wildweasel wrote:Isn't that almost what Advance Wars is? The only thing missing is unique units...Deviluke Roy wrote:Edit: On this show of Deviluke Roy's bad ideas, we also have making a fire emblem game in a modern setting.

Well, sure, there are more fine differences between the two games, but it probably wouldn't be difficult to create a sort of hybrid of the two.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
strangely enough there was already a game that was sort of advance wars in medieval times. There was an Age of Empires game on the DS that basically amounted to a medieval advance wars with an AoE2 theme laid over it. it was kinda fun, but nothing too special. A video from a popular aoe2 caster:

Lets talk about stuff that I thought off:
1: The To Love-Ru girls fighting aliens with their breast milk.
2: Commissioning a guy to draw one of my characters, Marie-Baptiste "Barre" Beaufort, who has no head and magically moves a brown mask around.
3: Commissioning someone to draw Lily Peet eating Twilight Sparkle from the My Little Pony Series.

.. and bronies wonder why they're hated so much. This is a "What Did You Last Do" thread, as in, done something creative. Not "share your shower thoughts" thread.Deviluke Roy wrote:3: Commissioning someone to draw Lily Peet eating Twilight Sparkle from the My Little Pony Series.

i don't think a thousand neuroscientists, psychologists, and other mental specialists analyzing deviluke roy's posts will ever figure out what compels him to think that posting these things is a good idea

Isn't he like 13 or somewhere in that ballpark? He's probably just going through that phase a lot of us went through where his concept of comedy is throwing random words into a sentence and going "LOOK GUYS! MONKEY CHEESE DISHWASHER!!", warped through the fractured and stained lenses of being raised by the Internet.InsanityBringer wrote:i don't think a thousand neuroscientists, psychologists, and other mental specialists analyzing deviluke roy's posts will ever figure out what compels him to think that posting these things is a good idea
Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
I remember one forum member who used to post similar content initially but matured to the point that he seemed to be a different person after 2 years or so. Eventually caused the guy to drop his big (and, err, kinda special) project after growing resentful of it.

Yes, I try too hard to be funny, but I'm not doing so anymore, since I understand that reality is more funny than any comedy. I thought Drake got a basketball award, for fucks sake!
Though I have thought of trying to be funny again, though, I keep forgetting to put in one important thing, a message. In the words of my father, Comedy is something told in an unexpected, exaggerated way.
And there's the thing that started this mess, saying that I want to commission someone to draw Lily Peet eating Twilight. I'm just sharing my thoughts without thinking of if people would like to hear them. I apologise.
Edit: I'm not a brony.

Not at all to defend Reviloy's posts, but...
Are you sure that's not the WIP thread? I can think of countless posts in here that aren't doing "something creative," but are still accepted as par for the course.Hellser wrote:This is a "What Did You Last Do" thread, as in, done something creative.

Re: The New What Did You Last Do Thread
This thread exists because people "blogged" in the WIP thread a bit too much. WIP (formerly known as "What the HELL are you working on")is for creative. This thread right here is the thoughts thread. Productivity isn't required.
