The Still New What Did You Last Do Thread

Post by wildweasel »

The last thread was getting a bit rusty on account of the random bloodstains in the last few pages, so I've taken the liberty of giving you all a new one. In this thread, you may mention things like what you're playing lately, music you've been listening to, stuff you've eaten, other cool things you've done that aren't technically considered things you're working on.

But a few things you might want to know first:
  • Feel free to discuss things with each other but please don't let it get too heated. It's a pain to have to bin the posts.
  • There are some things better left unsaid. You may want to reconsider mentioning things like your sex life.
  • All usual forum rules still apply, so no porn, no warez, no shouting matches.
You may now resume your regularly scheduled gossiping.

Alright then, let me kickstart this by saying that I had finally found a job, after a good three weeks of searching. I don't think my wallet appreciates the sort of break I gave myself.

Ah I was worried there wouldn't be another thread...good stuff!
Just got an email back from the site I order my Hama beads from after asking about having the two orders combined-
I wrote:Hello, I have made a couple of orders, one on friday evening and another just now, would it be possible if the first has not already been sent to combine the two orders? I wish I could have ordered the other set at the same time but I had forgotten to add the colours I had order in my second lot...
I have payed the full price including postage on both, but I thought it wouldn't hurt asking because you did reply quickly to my last set of emails before so I know there are humans involved! :)
Love the site by the way, it's a shame you do not sell packs of 3000 though, there are a few sits that do, but the postage on one in Europe was over £5!
Thanks~
They wrote: Of course I will combine the orders!

However I do have one small problem---I cannot refund one of your postages because I do not have your Credit Card details. This is because our site is so secure that we have no knowledge of your Card details when you pay----you go to a third party website to pay.

I will therefore put£3.65 in a little plastic bag in your parcel!

Regards,

From one of the humans!
Good to know that there are still businesses out there that do give a shit about their customers! :3

Apparently Warrior Nation is holding a little contest in Goldeneye: Source regarding finding the hidden DAT cartridges on Facility. I know where they all are, but, as usual, when I desperately need to go to Facility, the map will never come up, or it will but nobody will vote for it. >:(

School is also starting for me soon. I'm planning on changing my concentration within my major from Software Development to Web Design, since SD really isn't clicking with me anymore.

I'm also waiting for my fittings pack that should have come with my new case. If it doesn't come soon, I'm going to start building with what I have unless something screws up.

FuzzballFox: Awesome! You deserved a fair shake after that DVD debacle.

Been kinda away from iot all for a couple days, as I've been working on a rather in-depth TC. Not going to be a very serious one I think, though the weapons will be cool. So far everything is in Apogee (ROTT/Blake) style, but I expect that to change soon. :P

That reminds me...I haven't got that money back...Though according to my mum (who is the family Ebay expert because she has bought and sold so much) it may take a few working days to get it back...so hopefully I will get my £25.99 soon...D:

Edit: 500th Post! I feel so old...I think...

DA Muro looks very slick. Even the basic pack is just incredible the amount of tools available on it.

I don't think I'll be using it too much, since I've already invested most of my image skills in GIMP, but it'll be fun for doodling at work when I'm not getting calls or something.

Did you already? lol.

So Gaia got pinball, an effective attraction employing Gaia marketing ploys... I tried out the new Shooting Monsters with Guns, still liking everything but the decision to change how many bullets a gun uses in a single round (it just reminds me of old DeHackEd days IMO), played my Homerun in Berzerkland for my ten diamonds.... is my life going to be so achievement based now?! Oh well, beats being bored every single day.

Anyone else like to pick up both guns in area 51 when you're playing by yourself?

Heh, been around slightly longer than you and I'm only on 519. I think you start getting old when you have 12000+ posts (I think that's probably more so on doomworld but all the same). I'm looking at you Enjay ;)

Passed the first year of university, which is all I really needed to do because the first year doesn't actually count towards the final degree. University starts in about a month now. Bloodstock next week. Band is coming together now with a potential record deal in the long term pipeline. Finally completed moving in all of my stuff into my new flat. Went to Dubai for 10 days to stay in my mom's apartment a few weeks ago and have otherwise been all over the place in the UK but I don't think much more is planned for the remainder of the summer holidays.

Gaming wise, last played through the entirety of Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth II: Soulblighter coop with my brother. Also tested a few of the campaign levels with the Dark side (who you normally spend the entire campaign fighting). Tried to get the Escalation mod for Total Annihilation working, until I realised I need the Core Contigency expansion pack, which I will probably order one the next loan comes through. Tried to open up the campaign levels of Total Annihilation and make them coop compatible, but even though it is possible seems like far too much work (besides each side needs a Commander to load up in multiplayer so... yeah).

About a week and a bit ago had a 4 day LAN gaming session with 3 other friends. Played a bit of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Warcraft III custom maps, Call of Duty: United Offensive, Battlefield 1942, Stronghold (the RTS), Heroes III of Might and Magic Complete Edition, the first Halo and Star Wars: Battlefront II. Drank about 3 crates of beer over the course of the entire session (myself). Had curry each consecutive night - good times!

Started playing the original Doom on my flatmates Xbox 360. It's nice to have a fresh challenge with levels that are so familiar after all these years (as I haven't really owned a console so I'm not too familiar with the controller). Positively owned my flatmates at deathmatch - E1M5, E2M9 and E3M5 seem to be the favourites so far.

Tried to get my flatmates into Thief: Deadly Shadows - neither of them like it :(. Ahh well guess it takes a certain type of person to play through such an intense game series.

Currently playing through the first two Doom IWADs with ReDoom, and thoroughly enjoying it.
