If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

I really like that. It's got lots of twists and turns (it's quite reminiscent of the X-Files theme at times - definitely not a problem) and, all together, it is a complete "beginning, middle and end" story all on its own.

What is "IPoG"? Is it an acronym for an old game?

Yup - this game, specifically.

Ahh, that game. Has some unique designs and such, but somehow never noticed a lot. And i see some mods still using its resources such as character sprites!

Is there a tool that automates sprite renames for large sets of sprites for Doom?

I use Bulk Rename, it makes naming large numbers of sprites quite easy.

I like Rename Master myself: http://www.joejoesoft.com/vcms/108/ It's a very powerful renaming tool.

Depends what you want to do with the renaming though. If it's just something like change all sprites with the name POSS* to CPOS* than a command prompt can do that in a second or so.

I extracted some sprites from a sprite sheet, they are character sprites with rotations. The png files are all named with numbers and I want to rename them properly so I can use them for a Doom mod. Ill try both Bulk Rename and Rename Master, but is there a more specialized tool for this?

SLADE 3 can do some things to help, it's not perfect, but it has special rename patterns to automatically generate letters and numbers as needed.

Not a more specialised tool, but - if anything - less so. However, I still find DOS-style batch files very useful for doing bulk file operations. If you're familiar with them, it's possible to make something that will do exactly what you want and you can also make it a bit more flexible by building in the ability to accept command line parameters and so on; allowing one batch file to be used for different sprite sets/names.

I still use DOS batch-based batch operations but unfortunately they're quite limited on dealing with certain filenames with more .'s and spaces that not even surrounding quotes can always fix.

Batch is pain incarnate. Even the more powerful functions you get nowadays are just cruft (if not badly designed themselves) on top of the same horrible system.

So... The Big Lez Show has come to an end. Not sure if it's completely over because of the last part of the episode. Still makes a lot of promises yet have got some plot holes to fill.

I'd better wait for more news or somethin'.

My sister took this picture of me at the train station. She forgot to turn off whatever filter she uses though.
