That's some crazy water effect on... Doom, i think! It's really a wonder that 27 years old game works just fine with some new and advanced stuff.AFADoomer wrote:Pretty...

Uses a flow map texture to determine movement direction, and adjusts the normal map dynamically with the direction and velocity of water flow. Also samples another texture for the surface debris/foam, which moves with the water and 'collects' in areas with slower moving water. Loops seamlessly.

Thanks! Yep, that's GZDoom.
The effect is far from perfect, and setting it up in a map can be a hassle. But it's coming along nicely, I think

While it certainly looks great, it ... also kinda really calls attention to the fact that the arrow conveyor thing isn't animated as smoothly. Which feels like an extra silly bit of clashing, since there doesn't really seem to be much reason for it to not just be a scrolling texture, yet from the framerate I get the feeling it's an animated flat.

Oh my!GreenLegacy wrote:Some images from a new title screen. The title screen will be fully animated!
This makes me wonder, will those three be playable or will it only be M16?
I would love to play as the blue one and slash some bugs with that sword.
Also, somehow managed to make the Targeter work with my limited ZScript knowledge:
Ideally it would also highlight enemies through walls, but don't think I can manage to do that with how badly I code.
Still, this makes it slightly more useful now, since I am replacing the accuracy upgrades with something else.

Unfortunately my shader only really works nicely with dynamic lights present... I've experimented with a variation of the SimSun shader to at least give the surface some waves when there are no light sources around, but it's far less dynamic and realistic.Redneckerz wrote:Pfft, reflections are easy peasy.AFADoomer wrote:Thanks! Made me laugh after the player pulled the trigger at first there. I think it's gonna be so finicky to use without any upgrade than the original game!Jarewill wrote:In the meantime: I like weapon upgrades.

Heh, I always thought that those guns looked uncomfortable to fire!Captain J wrote:Made me laugh after the player pulled the trigger at first there. I think it's gonna be so finicky to use without any upgrade than the original game!
But they have been buffed a lot too! They deal more damage now and are capable of breaking through Acolytes' shields.
Using full-auto won't be needed for early game anyway, since Acolytes fall fairly easily from 2-3 bullets.
There is also a "player cybernetic augmentation" upgrade that halves the climb at level 1, and completely nullifies it at level 2.

More Autumn Flock stuff:

Autumn Flock is a working title by the way. One of the maps will be called Autumn Flock, but the project itself probably won't when its released =P
