Still hella fun though.
Re: The WIP Thread
I hear a lot of good things about the Thief games. I haven't play any yet (I know, I know)... as a matter of fact, it was only in 2015 where I played Deus Ex for the first time ever, and MAN did I make a mistake for sleeping on it, because I got hooked straight away and accumulated 150 hours and played through it like 3 or 4 times. :P I enjoyed the stealthy bits of Deus Ex (actually I think that's how they designed it, because if you play it Doom-shooter-like, the game just sucks). I'm sure Thief is more detailed in the "first person stealth" game department. Gotta try it soon.Enjay wrote:Nothing has come close to the precision and proper stealthing of the Thief games IMO.

Re: The WIP Thread
i've never played Thief, but LGR's video on Thief seems pretty comprehensible.
i agree that stealth in a game can be fun if done right; i think my best memory of stealth done right were the new Wolfenstein games, New Order and Old Blood. in New Order especially, it felt the best, having levels where you can sneak by pretty easily to assassinate the commander that would call in the guards on you. but even if you fail, you can always fall back on gunning down everyone in a blaze of glory. or just do that from the start, nothing's really stopping you.

The best thing about stealth in Thief aren't really the mechanics per se (though they're good), it's that you *feel* sneaky and the overall excellent immersiveness. The sound design in particular makes the game what it is.

That scarab cursor looks pretty big and title logo seems pretty plain. But it looks okay IMO.
