If it's not ZDoom, it goes here.

Autumn Flock is a working title by the way. One of the maps will be called Autumn Flock, but the project itself probably won't when its released =P
Definitely has Yoshi's Island feeling. I really love the calm and flamboyant crayon style! Why the heck i did not see this? :O

Nice.

I don't know if it is intended or not but I get quite a Mines of Moria (as depicted in the movies) vibe from the screenshots.

Or Ravenholm mines from Half-Life, but darker, large and has no headcrabs or the blades.

Thanks for the replies. The actual source of inspiration is Blighttown from Dark Souls 1 and Farron Keep from Dark Souls 3

What's this, you ask? Sprite shadows? Hasn't this been done before?

Well, sure, that's a mod. What you are seeing here is sprite shadows implemented directly into the engine itself. Yes, I'm deprecating my mod by making the engine do it instead. :P

(currently only works for the software renderer)

Quick test run through the Sanctuary.
The mod is working pretty well now, though I feel like I should nerf the leather armor a bit.
Originally I boosted it's defense to 40% from 33%, but that might not have been the best idea, considering the player is so resistant now.

why do you crouch when you fighting with this guys? it doesn't seem to give you any advantage.

Also you came into room of some not hostile peasant and kill him on spot to take his gold ?

Never played Strife? Killing that guy is the objective of the mission. He's a traitor and you have to kill him before he blabs too much to the bad guys.

The reason I was crouching, was because their shields now block incoming attacks.
So, it's only aim for the legs or the head, and since the legs are easier to hit, that's what I did.

It's only a problem for the early game though, because the rifle can break through their shields with ease and most other attacks explode.

Edit:

Yes, it's more or less something like that.
It's just me experimenting for the first time with ZScript and trying to make something playable.
I was also heavily inspired by Hideous Destructor when making it, so I would call this something like "poor man's HD for Strife"

Strife does need some more love, so this is a welcome sight.

Do you want some help with sprites frankestaining? or some weapon attack alt fire variant?
