Meanwhile, '90s British comics had stuff like this:
Spoiler:
(Incidentally, this was something like the second or third comic I ever bought!)

I do like me some Dredd. Coincidentally, I just watched the Karl Urban movie again a couple of days ago. Some fans complained that the uniform wasn't as per the comic, or that the city looks too contemporary or that they didn't say drokk or grud but I still think they did an excellent job of transferring the feel of Dredd and life in Megacity One life to the big screen. And it's a good movie IMO.

TBH, I don't think that the Stallone movie was entirely awful. It's not too bad if you just take it as a cheesy future-cop-like movie. Even with the uniform, the Angel gang, the LAAAAWWW and all the other elements that are straight out of the comic books, it never felt like Dredd to me. Shame that it was never going to get a sequel. Not sure of the status of the proposed TV show though.

As a bit of a left-field, I also think the cutscenes from the PS1 Dredd game were reasonable (all things considered). The game was awful (the most rail-like of rail shooters that there could be) but I did like the cutscenes and played the game to the end mostly for them.

Still in gestation as of May, and it's gonna take a long-ass time since Rebellion (the company that owns 2000AD) wants to do it all themselves, to the point of building their own studio and soundstages in Oxford.

Is Rebellion big enough for that? As far as I know, all they have are their video games business (which seems strong but not particularly near the top of the hearp) and 2000 AD. I'm surprised that they can finance something like that.

They also own several publishing companies: Abbadon Books, Ravenstone Press, Solaris Books, Cubicle 7, and Mongoose Publishing.

Double post? Nah, i'm surprised that you actually used godray effect for the game that uses MS-DOS graphics! By all means, it's a nice combination.

We are trying our best to combine the classic elements with a few modern twists without killing the nostalgic feeling :)

I finally need to start sharing the stuff even if the pack is still WIP. Maybe a github repo?
