Also I tried the update and yeh it is fixed, but how do I change the menu/console font though?

You can't change them - the new additions to allow better multi-language support, and revised menu system, mean that the old fonts aren't very usable.

Just have a look at the Freedoom font for something that makes the menu utterly unreadable.

It's still there. It can be found the Set video mode menu.
