And so the rumor spreads...

The only one who is able to do something about it is Randy - by posting some progress information.

I hope he keeps working as soon as possible. Very bad that Legacy is dead now, and if it occurs to ZDoom too, there won't be any reason to keep playing Doom.

Skulltag is no comparison, it's just a "mod" on top of Zdoom. Although nice, I doubt it could ever take the place of ZDoom should zdoom "die".

The days when coders were coders seem to be over.

No it won't. If only for the reason that its source doesn't get released. But don't worry. If ZDoom really died rest assured that there will be people who might resurrect it.

I think that happened when Daniel declared that Legacy is dead. He is the only one who knows of this development but so far nobody was able to confirm it.

To be honest, there was a long time since my last visit to Doom Legacy forums, so I really can't say it is really dead. But for the time they were promising a new version until now, more than six months have been passed...

They are still in beta testing. Don't forget that they almost rewrote the engine from scratch. (and it was necessary considering the overall stability of the old code.)

Unlike many ports, ZDoom wont just "die." It has enough people, including coders, that play it, that it wouldn't go off to the way side.

No kidding. It reminds me that I really need to get back into programming and start building skill up.
