so far, from what i noticed, and from how long i've been reading in the forums, only .48 and .64 were long delayed releases. all the others were released quite quickly.

JDoom has. 1.8.2 is rather new. But most of the others update much more sporadically than ZDoom. The current delay is an abnormality caused by a massive rewrite of some code.
Most of the others only release a version once a year at most and no matter how buggy it is you are stuck with it for a long time.
