You should still be up to date with your ZDoom version, though...

Daniel: 2.0.64 will have support for defining new weapons.

As for the numbering system, who the hell cares?

Who cares whether it's called an alpha, a beta, a gamma, an omega, or whatever? The fact is 2.0.63a is one of the most stable versions of ZDoom ever, and is considerably more stable than the latest "full release" of ports like Legacy and JDoom.

ZDoom Releases should not be considered 'beta'.

Don't let the 'a' confuse you. It doesn't mean 'unstable', 'pre-release' or other nonsense like that - it just means it's a minor update to 2.0.63 which fixed a very annoying bug.

Yes. I know that ZDoom releases are more stable than any port. But ZDoom updates are very slow, while the other ports are constantly being updated. If Randy do the updates that the community are talking about, ZDoom will be THE port. No reason to download another one.

you OBVIOUSLY haven't been here long enough. :P

so far, from what i noticed, and from how long i've been reading in the forums, only .48 and .64 were long delayed releases. all the others were released quite quickly.

short:
only .48 and .64 were long releases from what i know.

Actually, I don't think any of the major ports (JDoom, Eternity, Legacy, Skulltag, ZDaemon, ZDoomGL, Vavoom, etc) have been publically updated for quite some time now...

JDoom has. 1.8.2 is rather new. But most of the others update much more sporadically than ZDoom. The current delay is an abnormality caused by a massive rewrite of some code.

Most of the others only release a version once a year at most and no matter how buggy it is you are stuck with it for a long time.

A truth. Doom Legacy versions came with some irritant bugs, like the Launcher bugs, and they don't fix them. This a bug that everyone notices; a shame.

Solution, command line! I hate the Legacy Launcher anyway.
