News from 22 June 1999

Post by randi »

Some oldish news here, but it still deserves mentioning:

The ZDoom Launcher's homepage has moved to http://www.ltsp.com/users/jcuenco/zdlaunch/. The e-mail address for its author, Jeffrey Cuenco, has also changed to jcuenco@sciti.com. If you don't know what it is, it is a program that will let you start ZDoom, pick wads, and set different options without messing with the command line (similar to the frontend that came with Doom95).

Another ZDoom launcher, ZM, has changed its name to DoomServ and reached version 3.1. This one is designed specifically with Internet games in mind. Recent changes include "better multiplayer support, automatic downloads of wads and skins. (After downloading them it'll automatically launch your game), Client to client file transfer is back and working better than before, DM Flags definable from DoomServ, Launch status lets you know who declined a game you requested, Internal Email added so no more launching 2 windows in Netscape to send comments or bug reports, Changed a couple of key stokes that were used so that you can now cut and paste in the chat room, Added 3 more rooms to chat in."

(Disclaimer: If you have any problems with either of these programs, please contact their respective authors and not me.)
