No, current health is applied correctly. But you can't heal past previous max health with energy pickups.

There seems to be a problem with energy tanks not giving you proper amount of max health, if you pick them up while in morph ball.
Also, charge missile pickups give all of them at once, instead of their own.

Actually, it was my mistake. As it turn out, the megawad I've been testing with sets compat_notossdrops to 1 for some reason.

Little addendum: Please make spawn position of loot dropped by bosses somewhat random, so they all don't clump together into a singularity.

So, apparently Flame Bloom Darts freeze GZDoom 3.2.3 when hitting arachnotrons.
Also, one of the helmet pickups gives you every other helmet.

I had similar issues when doing episode 3 of AAliens. Particularly on maps 23 and 28.
Although when I try warping to these maps, frame drops are barely noticeable.

Hmm, is it intentional that separate BFG ammo pickups give more charge than classic ones?
To gain an Illuminator shot, it takes 3 rocket boxes with new mode and 4 with old.

Speaking about ammo pickups. Do TNT shells still give 6 pieces, despite their sprite having only 4 of them visible?
