Nice... that was it. Thanks.
BTW, can anyone tell me why fmod is a requirement if it doesn't actually output BGM sound in Linux?

Re: The official "ZDoom on Linux" thread.
Hello. I'd like to compile ZDoom with Fluidsynth support, or at least I'm assuming it needs to be compiled in to it. I'm currently running Debian x86_64, and I have the fluidsynth packages installed. When I went to run ZDoom, I noticed there wasn't any fluidsynth option available. When preparing my ...

Mouse lookspring(?) won't disable
- Arch Linux x86_64 - SVN ZDoom build - Revision 3200M Hello. I disabled the mouse lookspring, and lookstrafe in the mouse options. But... I'm having an issue where horizontal mouse movements still move the player forward, or backwards. The only way to not have the mouse allow walking/running is to ...

Re: Linux: Older ZDoom sources?
Thanks, I'll play around with the makefile to see if I can compile it.

Re: Linux: Older ZDoom sources?
Hmmm... those are old. I was hoping more along the lines of the KDIZD requirement, 2.2.0. Maybe I could try messing around with those sources, assuming someone knows where I could find them? On a side note; Could someone tell me which zdoom.ini line I need to change to switch from Fmod sound ouput ...

Linux: Older ZDoom sources?
Hello. For a little pet project, I'm attempting to get a hold of an older version of the ZDoom sources. Does anyone know the last, or any compatible, version I could compile on Debian Sarge? It would be from about circa 2005. I'd also need to know what dependencies a Zdoom from around 05' would need ...

Re: ZDoom with SB Audigy SE
Turns out that I was able to narrow it down to any program that uses the Fmod libary. ie - fmod.dll, fmodex.dll (any version) It works fine in ZDoom with the 'waveout' option selected, but a lot of the older apps that used fmod didn't have that option available. :| I just thought I give the heads up ...

Re: ZDoom with SB Audigy SE
Hmmm... Well after trying every sound setting I could think of, I finally found a solution. I feel kinda dumb for not trying it earlier. After trying the default, directsound, openal, asio, even the vista, I found that the "waveout" setting works without issue. This is s recently installed sound ...

Re: ZDoom with SB Audigy SE
Strangely enough, I can reset the sound, and it goes back to normal for a few seconds. But... it only lasts for a few seconds before the problem returns.

ZDoom with SB Audigy SE
Hi. I seem to be having a problem running ZDoom with my Sound Blaster Audigy SE. After a few seconds of playing any Doom, with or without pwads, the sound starts to lag behind, and becomes distorted. It almost sounds like everything was slowly being buffered in at a sub-par rate. The BGM, and sound ...

Re: The official "ZDoom on Linux" thread.
This whole compiling attempt was in effort to find some use for an old PC of mine -> PIII, 800Mhz, 512MB RAM, 8MB Gfx Card: Common = No Fmod sound output. Debian = Playable on resolutions of anything below 640x480 FS. No mods. Arch = Best setting on 400x300 FS. Still choppy, and poor frame-rate ...

Re: The official "ZDoom on Linux" thread.
I haven't set up a normal user account. I'm running almost everything from the command line... I wasn't going to either as I feel running as a normal user is about as bad as using UAC on Windows. Will I be able to compile without disabling the assembly if I do? I noticed that neither Debian, or Arch ...

Re: The official "ZDoom on Linux" thread.
I ended up rebuilding the SVN as debug. Here's the result: http://pastebin.com/aBTPAfZH
I ended up canceling it after about 45 minutes as it appeared to be frozen.
EDIT:
How do I apply the patch? I've installed the patch package. Do I just run it from the SVN's top directory?

Re: The official "ZDoom on Linux" thread.
I rebuilt ZDoom as debug from then last stable (?) version (2.5.0-1) instead of the SVN, so I'm assuming it must be my PC's hardware setup. I ran the command 'gdb zdoom', set the log text name, and started ZDoom. Unfortunately, the x session I'm running it in hangs like before. I ended canceling the ...
