Looks like the mystery is solved. He is trying to use widescreen statusbar replacements with pwads that don't include an STBAR lump on their own. That means the original STARMS is used, which is the expected behavior. I'm afraid it's not meant to work like that, m8. However, you can fix it by ...

It works just as well with 4:3, and I would need it, because I'd like to change the status bar. These patches only contain the STBAR patch, not the STARMS one (since it never changes). You are apparently loading some other mod that contains an STARMS lump (from the original statusbar, obviously), so it is shown. No. It has to be something else, because I NEVER use ANY mods (except for Doomkid ...

If I put a HUD into the the proper autoload folder, a small portion of it, namely the 'Arms' box retains its original form, like you can see it on the picture below:
What is the reason for this and how can I make it work correctly?
