Re: gzdoom deleted
The only logical explanation is that I must have done it myself but I really can't think why I would do that. I lost all my progress. The good news is this is doom, so I should be able to simply idclev to where I was. Still this kind of freaked me out so I backed everything up and formatted my PC.

Re: gzdoom deleted
The only saving grace is that this is doom we're talking about and losing your save data isn't that big of a deal, but still.

Re: gzdoom deleted
If you had deleted the GZDoom folders, that usually would show in the Recycle Bin, from there you can restore folders/files. I would check that first. As a second possibility you could check if they were accidentally moved to somewhere else. Do a search for the name of the missing folder. If ...

My entire gzdoom directories have disappeared. They're just not there and I haven't deleted them. Has anyone else experienced this. I check my AV log so sign of of deletion from it either.

Re: How I deal with multible mods and wads
I used to do a similar thing in times long gone, now I have the ini file just the way I want to play any game. Instead of filling your drive with multiple copies of GZDoom you could create a bat file to take care of the housekeeping of the various setups you prefer for a specific pwad. Whatever ...

How I deal with multible mods and wads
This is just me asking for some input on method I personally use to manage multiple mods and wads when I want them to all be uniquely configured. Like most people I use ZDL to manage my mods and wads. When I decided that I wanted to separate save files and settings between them I just copy pasted ...

Re: DoomRL Arsenal - [1.1.5] [MP-B7.3]
Which version of GZDoom should you use with this mod, is it still 211?
Also is there an order in which the arsenal and monster packs should be loaded?

Re: Can't get expansion for Russian Overkill.
Normally I would point you to the "Request Reuploads Here" topic, but in the case of Reinforcements From Moldova, the contents of that expansion have long since been merged into the main Russian Overkill mod, since several versions ago. Thanks I'm, downloading all the cacoawards megawads and ...

Re: segregate settings for mods and wads
The most thorough option is to have separate GZDoom folders for each mod (or group of mods) that you want to have share settings. The less intrusive option is to have a single GZDoom folder but launch each mod with the config commandline option , using a different config file for each mod. This ...

segregate settings for mods and wads
If I want to set up multiple wads and mods and don't want them sharing settings or save files for lack of compatibility. How do I do with with either ZDL or GZDoom?

Oh yeah, that makes sense lol.wildweasel wrote:If it's released after 1998 or so, look at the readme file. Usually they'll specify if jumping is allowed or not - unless it's intended for vanilla, in which case, safe to assume jumping is forbidden.

What if you're meant to jump?
If you're playing a Megawad that's design with things like jumping or ducking in mind. Is there a way to tell? Should you just asume that most wads are going to be made without those things in mind?

Re: Why doesn't GZDoom save gameply settings
Another problem is the jumping; you're not meant to jump in doom or heretic which can break the levels. But you are meant to jump in Hexen. So if you're using GZD to play either of these games for the first time and not know this, you can get stuck or break the game. This is something I wanted to ...
