What are your thoughts on: John Romero's "One Humanity"
So apparently, John Romero made a Doom 2 level after 28 years. It can be found here at his website: https://romero.com/shop/p/onehumanity What are your thoughts about it? In my opinion, this is great. Although you need to pay for the level. It's for a good cause. This level was made to support the ...

Re: Random Stuttering in Games
I think I'm on to something.. After weeks of torment and an app recommended to me from another person. I may have caught the culprit, I think.. Turns out, it wasn't my CPU going nanners. It was my GPU, for some reason. :x Screenshot (16).png I'm still finding a fix for "GPU Dips" but if know one ...

Re: Random Stuttering in Games
I wish I can record a video but I ran into problems.. 1. As the title said, the stuttering is random. It's hard to keep anticipating on a stutter when playing E1M1 20 times. Even though the stuttering is occasional, it's still bugs me and I want it gone. 2. Whenever I play Doom, I get a medium of 60 ...

Re: Random Stuttering in Games
Here is an example of the stuttering. I don't think this would help much but it's what is looks like.

Re: Random Stuttering in Games
Unfortunately, Vulkan doesn't seem to remedy this. In fact, it feels slightly choppier that OpenGL.Graf Zahl wrote:Vulkan should work better on any modern Intel GPU.
Also it still stutters.

I'm not really keen on updating or downgrading drivers. I just let the system do it automatically.Kappes Buur wrote:Have you udated the drivers?
I don't know whether my drivers were updated or not.

Re: Random Stuttering in Games
Intel UHD Graphics 605, that sounds like trouble as far as GZDoom is concerned. Many have reported issues with Intel graphics drivers. Do a forum search for Intel or Intel graphics to find a possible solution. 1 year ago, I had a "Doom Spree" where I would test addons, mods, and map to see if it ...

Re: Random Stuttering in Games
That could be caused by a number of various processes which your computer performs while it is powered up. I checked out task manager to see if there are any processes using high amounts of memory and I think I found 2 culprits, Antimalware Service Executable & Desktop Window Manager. Screenshot ...

Random Stuttering in Games
Does anybody know how to fix this? Here is some context: This didn't happen to me before but right now, it's annoying. Whenever I'm playing Doom (or any other games, especially FPS ones), it randomly stutters everytime. It makes dealing with enemies a pain. Normally I would ignore this when playing ...

Re: Game Name Conundrum
You also discovered Company Name Conundrum: id, iD, ID, or id Software? Yikes. It's been styled as "id Sofware" by the company*. The normal styling would be "Id Software", with uppercased first letter since it's a proper name. ID implies an acronym, which it isn't*, since it's supposed to be the id ...

Re: Game Name Conundrum
Pondering about it, organizing Doom games ("iD Tech 1" ones) is a bit of a pain. Doom I guess is the most agreed on but naming it something like "Doom II: Hell on Earth", it kinda lacks oomph. :| "DOOM II: Hell on Earth" seems ideal but it feels odd for some reason. :? "DooM II: Hell on Earth", no ...

Game Name Conundrum
What do you think is the best name for Doom that is mostly agreed on cuz it's very confusing.
It is said that it's Doom, but it was stylized as DooM then later as DOOM.

Chasecam Crash on Mod
Hi ya'll!
Anybody know how to fix "VM execution aborted: tried to read from address zero. In function parameter "self"?
Is there something wrong with the options?
Tried to chasecam with this mod but it broke.

Re: Bloodfalls but Water
Thanks neoworm, I'll note that for future reference. I was looking for a flowing water texture for a park fountain of sorts but this could be of use for my future levels.

Thanks for the Hexen one. I really wanted a stagnant wave texture since reusing the waterfall one I found a while back was DISGUSTANG.Gez wrote: Then there are the other games on the engine: Heretic, Hexen, Strife:
