I don't think they care to fix it, since this implementation was always prone to stop working at some point. Your best bet is to push for this commit https://github.com/ZDoom/gzdoom/pull/1541
So at least this can be fixed on an official feature.

I did some extensive testing modifying the code, and it turns out it can read the file, even if it's updated. The problem is now when gzdoom loads the lump initially, it remembers or allocates the memory for it, so if you add more to the file, it gets ignored. If you modify the existing text and ...

Yeah alt fires for pistols is always a hit or miss, like in half life the glock would just fire faster.
The one I liked was from turok rage wars, where the pistol would display a laser and fire a deadly bullet, but you had to be precise because it would drain your bullets

The assault rifles in supplice work just like the pistols, so it'd be kinda redundant I think

Yes I have some ideas, bullets that ricochet, or the other one is dum dum rounds, bullets that pierce and make them bleed for some time causing damage. But I still don't how it will turn out, some ideas are discarded when I implement them because they don't feel fun in game.

The SSG is very powerful, in older version of the mod, the regular shotgun was the one not used much, now it's the opposite. The better solution is to nerf the regular one, for now I think it has to consume more bullets. Alt attack for the RPG is a sound idea, I was thinking maybe rapid fire ...

Thanks for the feedback, at least you can reach up to 4k which is plenty, and as I understand the system has been an improvement for you all around, compared to the last version, so I'm pleased with the result.

Wow SlaughterMAX map 28 is a good PC benchmark in general, it even lags my original doom (maybe the map architecture is heavy too, and my pc is not good enough). Thanks for testing, yes it depends on the map (also this will not reduce lag cause by map geometry). Interesting results, how well can you run okuplok? (>20,000 monsters). Which maps did you try with >10k? (don't say Nuts :wink: ) About the hud, it's probably the load order, try changing the load ...
