Re: Relighting v4.0159b - better light & shadow
Some little ideas If were talking about little neat touches. What about filling in window slots with glass panes? or at least the ones with a view of the sky to give places more of the illusion they are real locations and not just abstract shapes. Also an idea is for maybe small light textures to ...

Still looks fantastic nonetheless. Keep it upHey Doomer_ wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:23 pm Good example of sidedef baked lighting for those who have not seen it:

This is NOT done with dynamic lights. It changes with the sector lighting but is otherwise baked.

Re: Relighting v4.0145b - slightly more accurate lights
Since you mentioned grid and texture lights, i assume this means you won't be adding just the spotlight lights sector to create the effect of having a spolight of light shining down? Similar kinda to how brutal does it with cone of light

Re: Relighting v4.0144b - more accurate lights
Sorry what is it that you're asking for? My own versioning is all over the place - all the code is being worked on at once - but I'll see what I can do to help. Sorry, re-reading that i posted i see what how i worded that wrong. I meant to say can you post or have an archive link for older versions ...

Re: Relighting v4.0144b - more accurate lights
After you fix what your currently looking at, are you going to dive into the LZ version also? On a side note, can you repost the archive (or let me access somehow in a mega/mediafire link) up till 4.01b so i can see where up to the last version i can make LZ compatible with (at least with my ...

Re: Relighting v4.0144b - more accurate lights
Holy smokes! I had forgotten about LZ, thanks for reminding me. I've been preoccupied with baked lighting issues. PPShader is for GZDoom shaders any may just be incompatible. It sets parameters for the shader and would have to be commented out, I would guess. I'd have to know where you're getting ...

Re: Relighting v4.0144b - more accurate lights
Out of curiosity, what happened to having a compatible version for LZ that i sent you? On a side note, how do i go about fixing an equivalent for LZ to the errors Unknown identifier 'PPShader' and the error Unknown identifier 'Lightlevel' Thanks, keep up the fantastic work as this is great. Holy ...

Re: Relighting v4.0b
Not currently at home but it was something along the line of dynamiclight.DontLightOthers if memory serves me correct. A substitute for this might be needed to keep the performance i assume. I removed those along with fixing the bugs you have documented here to test and it then works and performed ...

Re: Relighting v4.0b
I hope you can still make this compatible with LZDoom or somehow a version for it while keeping everything that could work from GZ, as it would be great to see your work on wireless headsets that only have a port of LZDoom for example.

Re: Relighting v4.0b
Speaking of shadows, are player and monster separated toggled? If not can it be done as the player shadow It'll be better disabled personally judging from RazzoR's video as the speed of doomguy makes it look jittery. Maybe about wall textures some ideas for you to think about ¹) just leave it out ...

Re: Relighting v4.0b
Maybe if you want, just rename this to RelightingZ or something to differentiate it completely from the "old" version? Just a thoughtHey Doomer_ wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:46 pm Also probably going to renumber all this back to pre-release, since the whole shebang is in beta and not just a few features...![]()

Re: Relighting Doom v3.31b [Updated 4/8/22]
Amazing work. Good to see you back.
I was tweaking this behind the scenes to squeeze some extra performance out of it but good to see the master has returned to his work progress and that progress is looking spectacular to say the least.
