Re: Latest Doom mapsets you have played

Sonic Robo Blast 2 is an amazing,open-source game running on a Doom source port, so I guess it qualifies for this thread. It might take some time to get used to the controls and also to adjust the settings, but once you do, you are going to have a BLAST playing it, especially if you are an old ...

BouncyTEM Boombox ("BouncyBox")

I present you the BouncyTEM Boombox - or BouncyBox - based off Big_Dordo's excellent Aubrey Hodges Jukebox . It is a music randomizer that contains all of BouncyTEM's Doom 64/Playstation Doom/Quake-inspired work from his Bandcamp page , except for a few songs - like themes and intermissions and ...

Looking forward to the sequel, which is reportedly in the work as we speak!

Re: Question About Difficulty Settings

Ayba left Doomworld and has been reuploading her work on her personal website . But you are right: after further experimentation, it looks like the incompatibility stems for Zhs2's Intelligent Supplies mod (another must in my opinion); I moved the load order around again and it appears to be working ...

Re: Question About Difficulty Settings

I am most interested in finding out what is causing the incompatibility with Belot, since it appears to lack both complvl file or compat_invisibility CVAR. Then again, it does not just make enemies freeze; it just crashes on starting a new game. Sometimes, moving it around in the loading order does ...

Re: Question About Difficulty Settings

" Alternate Take on Invisibility " That one is a fantastic tweak. It actually makes the invisibility powerup useful. Indeed, but beware: it can cause GZDoom to crash ("VM Execution Aborted" error) with some mapsets, notably Belot (which is odd, as it works fine with previous Ayba maps), and it will ...

Re: Anyone else banned from Doomworld?

I was permabanned, but recently I became unable to view Doomworld at all. Dynamo and Mordeth were kind enough to help me figure this out, but the best they have been able to do was to reduce my ban status to read-only and I still need to use Brave's TOR mode to view Doomworld.

Re: Question About Difficulty Settings

It always bothered me how overly generous most Doom maps were in terms of supplies and ammo (so much so that a lot of it would just go to waste), so after much experimentation, I made my own difficulty setting mod, complete with custom difficulty titles (thank you, Doom Text Generator ). Basically ...

Re: "The Box of a Hundred Demons" (NaNoWadMo2025)

32 maps in a month? Impressive work! While I would have preferred a vanilla mapset, I got to say, Minicharge Plus is full of pleasant surprises and I can see why you decided to build an entire megawad around it! I especially like the Diabloist seeking attack; it is much deadlier and harder to dodge ...

Re: Latest Doom mapsets you have played

Matt Eldrydge's survival horror map FALAZ is great, if not a bit too generous on supplies - even on 'Survival' difficulty - and over too soon. Otherwise, it is a solid Doom 3-meets-FEAR experience featuring a rather unusual reimagining of the Doom 3 shotgun! Ayba's Belot is the latest entry in her ...

Re: DOOM 2: REMAKE for GZDoom, with OTEX (30+1 maps)

Three maps in. I am enjoying it so far. It reminds me a bit of Abscission, probably because it is a darker reimagining of Doom II with an ambient soundtrack.

Good job!

Snaxalotl's Abscission is a Plutonia-hard reimagining of Doom II: Hell on Earth with a dark ambient soundtrack.

Play it if you can. It is FAN-TAS-TIC!

Re: Latest Doom mapsets you have played

I am in the process of playing recently-released mapsets right now, but aside from After The Sequel and Hell's Bane, I have not been able to finish them yet. One such mapset that I would recommend is Doom II Minus Doom , which is a full megawad that reimagines Doom II with a twist: it only features ...

Re: BouncyTEM's music albums: New - Spookyween 22!

Hey there! I really like your work and for fun I started working on a spin-off Big_Dordo's Aubrey Hodges Jukebox featuring your music. Now, it is not quite ready yet - I am still trying to figure out how to make a random playlist for the score, intermission and end screens using the more up-tempo ...
