Re: First Map - In 25 Years
haha do you remember Wolf3D? That was a lot of tight square corridors and if you played too much you would feel sick. Now and again i come across doom maps that have that right at the start (love that!) and i start to feel sick after a few minutes so that maps history (unless it's an above average ...

Re: First Map - In 25 Years
haha! first of all not a fan of indoor house type maps or lots of square rooms that lead to square rooms and i hate tight corridors so i got a bit bored with the beginning part (which needs more health) but then jumped to that large open area where the cyberdemon and spiders were and that was a nice ...

Re: First Map - In 25 Years
I like these sort of maps, where there's plenty of room and large areas even if there's not much to them. MAP01 was ok and after deciding to try the other two glad i did as MAP02 was ok too but MAP03 just blew me away - was not expecting that after the first two haha! All i can say is keep mapping ...

Re: How is this neat trick done??
Wait a minute... so does this program need a specific version? Yes. I am not sure how else you could interpret my earlier yes as anything but yes, so yes. and i have to have both DX9 and DX12 on my system? Yes. won't that cause conflict? I wouldn't be answering with yes if that were the case ...

Re: How is this neat trick done??
oh missed this! but thanks sweetieRebecca Ducklebeg wrote:The DirectX error came because DBX (and old GZDoombuilders and Doombuilder2 too) require SlimDX (v2.0).
The slimdx.msi installer is in the DoombuilderX's zip file and in it's Setup folder.

Re: How is this neat trick done??
I always thought DX overwrites itself and you can't undo it or go back to a previous version (WinXP days) but if you guys don't see a problem then i'll have to try it thanks. Also XWE DOES show those trigger lines in that sector around the player just i did not see the sector as the player was ...

Re: How is this neat trick done??
Yes XWE is.. but the thing i liked about it is the left side - very easy to delete/load/modify sounds/sprites etc. but it does lack a biggie for maps- no undo lol. Anyway thankyou both for editor suggestions and DoomBuilderX sounds and looks the go but i might try the other two as well and see which ...

Re: How is this neat trick done??
Haha naa not mislead just got my wads mixed up :) So i guess XWE (my editor) just isn't picking up the lines. I would of thought it at least would show a type number as i've seen strange numbers before (albeit with no description) might have to make the jump to doom builder.. but anyway thanks for ...

How is this neat trick done??
Wad is ALT.wad E1M1 (aeroplane level) and the part i cannot work out is how player 1's movement causes the other player 1's movement to trigger a linedef. Here's what happens: 1. Level starts and you see this. https://imgur.com/UcLyK6N 2. Then when you move a bit in ANY direction this is what ...

Re: Console Text Size
Oh ok so there appears to be no command to change it. I like ZDoom as it starts and runs nice with no problems especially in network so will just put up with it till maybe one day make the move to GZDoom as it will also fix the FOV reset problem and of course the looking up limit ZDoom has - cheers ...
