So I tried this patch from the link that was provided and tried running it through gz 4.14.2 and it freezes or soft locks . Had to force shut down gzdoom. Really sucks that I cant run hell rider with latest gzdoom version. Especially some addons have been using latest. I hope the author comes back ...

Well, that's the way i found to give the game some balance. Marion has a LMG that has more 20 extra bullets and deals 50% more damage, at the cost of a worse accuracy, while Simon has better accuracy and DPS. Always consider the Assault Rifles as options for mid tiers, some long distance plinking and the LMG for high tiers and close quarters combat.
