Re: A Doomers Requiem

I will see if I can force that part of player settings, similar to how ducking and cross hairs can be forced off.

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Its good to hear that you concur with this... The fact that it has helped you in your walk makes me feel that I have achieved what I was sent out to do. Thank you very much for playing. As for the problem you had, I ill attempt to recreate this, but I thought that I forced the player to draw the ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Do each of them have a dynamic light? That could slow things to a crawl very easily. If that's the problem one possible alternative is to spawn an invisible actor in the midst of the flames that alone has a dynamic light attached to it. They don't. No luck, I still didn't draw my sword after the ...

The only thing, the flame effects on the intro seem to cause a massive drop in FPS, are they spawning infinitely? Out of there everything ran smoothly.
No, they don't spawn infinitely.

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Haven't been in here in ages, and I must be having a problem: are you supposed to have the sword at the start of the Adversaries' Keep, or are you supposed to find it somewhere before you go in where the peach tree is? Because right now, I'm getting butchered by the Dark Bishops due to not having ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Ok guys, good to hear. Yes, a Dark Souls player should find this to be a respectable challenge. I am glad to see that others found this to be a decent and (unique?) combat encounter. The armor that you have in this mod is very very powerful, it reduces 77% of the damage , and it originally only ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Finally got around to playing this. Definitely an interesting and novel take! Just some thoughts: + First encounter is YHWH. You're a braver modder than me, dude. + Really digging the aesthetic. We need a lot more of this, religious or not, and less "gritty" stuff that doesn't work well with Doom's ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Playing this right now, and I've got one problem: The "intermission/interlude" screens are really, really large. And changing the resolution doesn't seem to help. Not entirely sure why this is doing this. Not running any mods, but I am running GZDoom 1.8.6. Not entirely sure what I should be ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Well, this is certainly interesting if anything. on a artistic standpoint: colorful. i love the first level with the colors changing in sequence. also noticed the weeping eye behind the throne. Your use of symbolism is for the most part subtle, but its use is somewhat limited. A good looking set of ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

This was kind of a strange wad, lots of eye piercingly bright colors and then quick transitions to Gothic colors. The camera movement was actually pretty good in some cut scenes. I left like the majority of the wad was an LSD trip mainly the bright areas looked like you just put random colors ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

Quite an intriguing mod; I enjoyed it thoroughly. I really like surreal stuff like this, so this was right up my alley. :) The levels are very well designed, and fit the mood nicely. The third level's design is probably my favorite; it just looks so heavenly and majestic. If there's one thing that ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

SidDoyle, I appreciate the fact that you understand more of the symbolism behind this project. Read the spoiler below if you like: As for the final battle -- yes it is given to the player, and only with the weapons that he receives from God is he able conquer the flesh. The sword obviously ...

Re: A Doomers Requiem

TheMightyHeracross,

"So was this supposed to be a mission or something?"

Not quite.

Think of it like poetry; reflect on what the meaning of the monsters, color choices, textures, architecture, etc, represent. Lots of symbolism.
