Re: The Turok series, your toughts on it ?
The first Turok was pretty good, the only bad things for me are the fog, the deadly platforms and the respawning enemies. I didn't played it a lot, but learned plenty of that game from magazines, internet and gameplay videos. Excellent enemy variety, good weapon arsenal, that nice Tek Armor and fast ...

Re: How do you honor Doom?
I made some mods, mostly new creatures (with recolors) with new attacks or stronger than the basic version and a randomizer. I want to improve in ACS so I can make a mod with abilities and shops. From time to time I like to see awesome demos from good megawads, like Community Chest, Alien Vendetta ...

Re: Gaming skills.
In the FPS genre, I can finish most games in medium difficulty. I can play either on PC or console, I think the controller of the PS3 is ok for FPS (I have played Bioshock, Borderlands, Rage, Resistance 3), maybe not at a competitive level but who cares. The only bad thing in a PS3 controller is the ...

Re: DOOM gets release date and a trailer.
I hope they can add something similar to the replays from Doom I and II. Those were really nice, fun to watch and helpful for some levels with hard to find secrets.

Re: DOOM gets release date and a trailer.
It is a good duration. If the enemy behavior is more random (like original Doom I and II) than based on scripts, the replayability could be huge.

Re: Call of Duty - Best Shooter of All Time
Fighting against soldiers or others normal humans, either with realistic or futuristic weapons is amusing, the first Call of Duty was really good , but the second time, it was the same, so his replayability was average or low. For a fan of history and real war, maybe it's the best game ever, for a ...

Re: Does anyone here actually use ZDoom?
GZDoom is cool but I don't like the aspect of the monsters (because of the filters), they look out of place. I love the pixelated feeling of ZDoom more.

Re: Computer gets abnormally hot when running Doom
Some old games (made for DOS) had a functionality directly related to the CPU speed, they play super fast in more modern CPU. Classic old doom didn't had this problem.
In my case, the game Need for Speed 3 (IIRC) almosts melts my CPU, I never knew why.

Re: Doom 4 article on Game Informer
Yeah, damage difference between the pistol and the shotgun was a bit too much. The pistol was like a peanut shooter, it needed more punch, like a magnum or desert eagle. About the music, PSX Doom was slower than PC Doom and had that colored lighting, so ambient music was more fitting. Doom 1 was not ...

Re: Is Doom really outdated?
No way, after many years it's still fun, and that is the thing that separate good games from great ones. Taking out and Imp with a shotgun blast is one of the best things ever.

Re: *Dark* game recommendations?
The question is old, but I will name some "dark" or "gritty" games thath I like, anyway. - Legend: For SNES, a simple hack and slash game but quite fun. - Demon's Crest: For SNES, you are THE demon (gargoyle), fighting against other demons in dark scenarios. - Disciples 2 and the expansions: For PC ...

Re: Anime, Manga and Otaku stuff
I like mangas more, because I think it's the original "thing" (a lot of anime adaptations change things, and very few add real worthy content, like Asgard saga in Saint Seiya). I'm currently watching: - Saint Seiya: Soul of Gold - Ninku Some of my favourites animes are: Cobra, Gankutsuou and Yu Yu ...

Re: Split-Screen Doom
Tried Doom 3D splitscreen yesterday and works!... But crashed 5 seconds after. I have been playing for a long time Doom Legacy 1.42 with my girlfriend, but a lot of megawads can't be played correctly (doors don't open, too many sprites cause a crash). Tried Legacy 1.44 but the configuration is not ...

Re: How to add more enemies?
You can simply download some monsters from realm667 and then add a ramdomizer code to replace the classic monsters with the ones you downloaded.

Re: A question. (Split screen)
Or Doom Legacy, but it's very limited in the options for split screen, and can't run some megawads (or specific levels), like Hell Revealed, because there are too much monsters.
