Re: Would ZDoom benefit more from more memory?
Thanks for the response. That's kind of what I thought but I wasn't sure.

Would ZDoom benefit more from more memory?
I've got an HP NC6400 with nasty Intel 945 family onboard GPU, 1gig RAM and a T5600 Core2Duo CPU @ 1.83GHz. Would ZDoom run better with either more memory (up to the 3.25 Gig limit) or slightly faster CPU (T7200 2GHz with bigger cache). Or (shock!) would ZDoom benefit much from upgrading both??

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
I'm going to set up a Return of the Triad game tonight at 21:00. I'm using GZDoom r1124 found here (I've found it to be the most stable): http://svn.drdteam.org/gzdoom/ I'm setting up a 2 player game for myself and Matt but if anyone else wants to join in either post in the Comm-Bat thread at the ...

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
Just a quick question. How many can play multiplayer? I'm trying to organise a game for tonight over at the ROTT forum and I don't want to disappoint people. :) If anyone's interested the thread for discussion at the ROTT Forum is here: http://rott.s4.bizhat.com/viewtopic.php?t=354&mforum=rott So ...

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
The player is definitely slower. The bobbing when moving is a lot more pronounced in this compared to the original and it kind of adds to a 'languid' feel to the player movement. Also, I started the second level and all my weapons had disappeared except the Drunken Missile. I'll give it a try again ...

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
I don't know how this compares to the original game, but this mod is amazing :) If you like this there's every chance you'll love the original. This mod certainly captures that ROTT vibe. You can get the first episode free from all over the net but here's a link if you or anyone else is interested ...

Re: The ROTT TC - Demo Released
This is really cool. There are a couple of things I'd point out. The first and smallest is the spelling of San Nicolas Island in the intro text. ;) The second is the characters are much slower than their ROTT counterparts. I know this is a demo so maybe you're already aware of that. Other things I ...

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (New: Co-op, pushwalls in GZDoom)
This is pretty much untouched since October of 2008, other than a few fixes today to get it running as a stand-alone IWAD, using Wolf3D resources as fillers... Just drop this into your Wolf3D TC folder, and run the .bat file. I won't be providing much support for this (at least not right now), but ...

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (New: Co-op, pushwalls in GZDoom)
Was the source ever released for Corridor 7? The reason I ask is because of the impressive TC done for the Doomsday engine. I asked the author if he intended to do a Blake TC but he said 'not really'... :( So, come on AFA, put your cards on the table. Admit it, you're working on a surprise Blake TC ...

Re: Wolfenstein 3D TC (New: Co-op, pushwalls in GZDoom)
On a side node, are there plans to make a similar TC for "Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold" (and possibly its sequel, "Planet Strike")? The engine was the same, I think, and the game was really great. Finding a decent port for this game is still pretty hard if not impossible, and I would like to be able ...

Re: 4x Hi-res Sprites [WIP]
I love that Imp picture! The Doom2 RPG stuff took a lot of flack but I find them on the whole to be pretty charming. Doom IS cartoony by today's uber-realistic models and lighting. I don't have a problem with that. And remember guys, this is YOUR project. While taking some criticism on board is a ...
