Have you tried opening two instances of GZDoom in windowed mode? Set the first as host, the other as -join localhost.

The verdict on this hasn't changed over time.

Split-screen

We have all been there, playing doom while our friends watch and refusing to give them a turn because you are enjoying yourself too much, now you could go find them a computer so they could play lan with you, but that is kind of tedious to set up. So what better than doom with split-screen? I looked around for split-screen ports and there are a few, but none have even remotely as many features as zdoom or gzdoom so I couldn't really use them. I really think split-screen in Gzdoom and zdoom needs to happen, It could make it way more enjoyable with friends.
