Exactly what I wanted :)

Unfortunately, the modified character graphics are taller than the standard Doom font, so I can't include them.
Too bad, the graphics are taller because of Ã,ã,Å,å and such, the default size would make this "almost" impossible to do, or the result would be unsatisfactory. Anyway, thanks for updating :D

I get a new compiler warning for this:

Code: Select all

/home/edward-san/zdoom/trunk/src/v_font.cpp:298:20: warning: '&&' within '||' [-Wlogical-op-parentheses]
        if (acode >= 0xD2 && acode <= 0xD6 ||   // O with accents
            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~
/home/edward-san/zdoom/trunk/src/v_font.cpp:298:20: note: place parentheses around the '&&' expression to silence this warning
        if (acode >= 0xD2 && acode <= 0xD6 ||   // O with accents
                          ^
            (                             )
1 warning generated.
What about Åå Ää Öö?
Updated strings added in r4271.
Unfortunately, the modified character graphics are taller than the standard Doom font, so I can't include them.
I created it :rock:
Charlist.zip
This is the character list with à, á, â, ã, ä, æ, å, ç, è, é, ê, ë, ì, ì, í, î, ï, ñ, ò, ó, ô, õ, ö, ù, ú, û, ü, ý and ÿ
(6.59 KiB) Downloaded 221 times
EDIT: I forgot to put this: to use the character list you must extract charlist.wad and open with ZDoom as a PWAD.
PTBR.zip
This is the updated translation for r4150+
For use with this charlist.wad
Versão atualizada da tradução para versões r4150+
Para uso com charlist.wad
(25.26 KiB) Downloaded 217 times
Can be used with this one too, but with more translations (an advanced translation, not needed the charlist.wad if downloaded the file below)
Leia em português aqui->
Spoiler:
DOOM2BR.zip
For use with ZDoom w/ language.ptb
Created for DooM II, so even using DooM, it will show images from DooM II (Title screens), but it's still playable (no maps changed)
Tradução avançada do DooM II para ZDoom usando language.ptb
Mesmo usando DooM, parecerá que está jogando o DooM II (telas principais), mas ainda é jogável (nenhum mapa foi alterado)
If I missed something on the charlist, tell me. :thumb:
Someone needs to draw the font characters. Support itself exists.
Of course it wouldn't help much with mods using custom fonts.
randi wrote:Added in r4149.
Side note: I ought to add some sort of Unicode support for language files;
That would be great, my translation could be even more complete if it supports chacacters like this: ç, ê, ã, õ, etc.
Added in r4149.
Side note: I ought to add some sort of Unicode support for language files; I see stuff like this all through it when I load it in my text viewer, because my system is set for a different codepage:
/* Portugu黌 Brasileiro. Feito por Patryck Padilha de Oliveira */
/* N縊 est・totalmente completo */
/* Doom est・traduzido 100% */
/* Chex(R) Quest traduzido 100% */
/* Heretic 75% traduzido (algumas telas ainda faltam) */
/* Hexen ainda n縊 traduzido */
/* Strife totalmente traduzido neste arquivo, certas partes n縊 ser縊 implementadas no ZDoom */
/* Plutonia Experiment ainda precisa ser traduzido */
/* Para atualiza鋏es visite: */
/* http://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=34682 */
/* Vers縊 0.97 - 07/12/2012 */
/* No final das tradu鋏es, tentarei adicionar os outros jogos suportados pelo ZDoom */
That string is present in the CQ 3 IWAD, not in ZDoom, so no amount of changes on ZDoom's side will affect it.
Traduções
by patryckpo » Fri Dec 07, 2012 2:06 pm
No need to read here, unless you are from Brazil, Portugal or speak in Portuguese.
Eu fiz uma tradução PT-BR para o ZDoom
Não está completa, veja o progresso:
Doom and Doom 2: 100% completo
TNT Evilution: 100% completo
Heretic: 75% completo
Hexen: WIP
Chex Quest: 100% completo
Strife: Voices.wad não traduzido
Tem outras coisas que não posso traduzir (como telas de "New Game") porque precisaria de trabalho extra, o qual ainda não tenho tempo.
Problemas:
Se alguém souber como editar o "You defeated a Maximus", poste aqui.
Se acharem outros erros, postem aqui.
Download: PTBR.zip
Somente extraia e insira o language.ptb no arquivo zdoom.pk3.
No jogo, entre no console e digite: language ptb
e aperte [enter]
versão 0.97 07/12/2012
Para ZDoom 2.6.1 (r3794 e acima)
Things like the “New Game” in the main menu would actually require separate graphic replacements, because they're not actually in text, but are all one image, so you shouldn't need worry about those.
Also for clarification for anyone that doesn't know the international language codes, this translation is Brazilian Portuguese.
Translations
I made a PT-BR translation for ZDoom
It's not fully complete, this is what it looks like:
Doom and Doom 2: 100% complete
TNT Evilution: 100% complete
Heretic: 75% complete
Hexen: WIP
Chex Quest: 100% complete
Strife: Voices.wad dialogs not translated
There are other things that I couldn't translate (like the New Game screen) because there isn't anything like that on the language.ptb
Issues:
[DONE]TAG_FIST can't be edited, no matter what you put here (in language.enu is shown as brass knuckles, but in the game is just "Fist")-->>> can't be edited because it don't exist.
If someone knows how to edit "You defeated a Maximus!" string on Chex Quest 3, tell me.
Post here if you found other issues.
Download here:
PTBR.zip
(25.26 KiB) Downloaded 382 times
Just unpack it and add the file "language.ptb" to zdoom.pk3
Inside the game, open the console and input > language ptb
Tech notes: Version 0.97 12/07/2012
This is already added in the last version :thumb:
EDIT: version 0.9 released (11/19/2012)
EDIT2: version 0.93 released (edited some parts on Chex Quest, for compatibility, use Chex Quest 3, available for free on Internet) (11/21/2012)
EDIT3: version 0.95 released (11/25/2012)
EDIT4: version 0.97 released (12/07/2012)
EDIT5: version 0.97 re-upped (will upload an update soon...)
