I found a typo.

OB_ALIENSPECTE = "%o struck down by the Spectre";

The word "was" is missing. =P

Oh and thanks for putting my Strife obits in!

EDIT: The Acolyte obituaries don't work for some reason.

Sounds good. I like this one.

How would one "cower in fear" if they're dead?

by Shadelight » Tue Dec 05, 2006 5:21 am

Player cowered in fear before the Heresiarch's sorcery.

Yay, now we have obturities for all games!

Uhhhh....

by Graf Zahl » Mon Dec 04, 2006 3:50 pm

Do you remember that they actually said anything?

Why don't people just find out what they originally said in the original DOS versions of the game?

Player was destroyed/struck down/vaporized/burninated by the Heresiarch.
Player bowed down to/was no match for/worshipped the Heresiarch.

That's what I get for typing them immediately before going to work (which was why I never did Hexen's bosses)

:P

Graf: Please check the spelling/grammar when you put in anything official.

Slaughtaur ranged: <player> was struck down by a Slaughtaur's fireball
Dark Bishop: <player> succumbed to a Bishop's dark power

But it sounds good, so what the hell? :P

by TheDarkArchon » Mon Dec 04, 2006 11:11 am

I'm not sure if this one is any good but:

<player> had his bones rolled by a Heresiarch

The reason I don't think it would be much good is that it may go over many peoples heads (The pun being that dice were originally made from bones)

EDIT: I wonder how many people would think it was a Rush reference..

by HotWax » Mon Dec 04, 2006 11:09 am

I would be wary of not putting the player's name in the obit somewhere. In single-player it doesn't really matter, but in multi-player the reason the name is there is to let everyone know who died. Maybe it's trivial, but I'd think twice before getting rid of it.

by Phobus » Mon Dec 04, 2006 10:57 am

You don't need the player's name in, and I was trying to think of one like Belial's, as I know that the heresiarch has those mana balls floating round it's head. I think Belial's one is good :P
