Fatal GZDoom error when trying to start a mod

Contrary to popular belief, we are not all-knowing-all-seeing magical beings!

If you want help you're going to have to provide lots of info. Like what is your hardware, what is your operating system, what version of GZDoom/LZDoom/whatever you're using, what mods you're loading, how you're loading it, what you've already tried for fixing the problem, and anything else that is even remotely relevant to the problem.

We can't magically figure out what it is if you're going to be vague, and if we feel like you're just wasting our time with guessing games we will act like that's what you're really doing and won't help you.

Fatal GZDoom error when trying to start a mod

by Jack_Pez » Sat Jun 29, 2024 7:33 am

Hi, I'm a newbie. Untill now, I've been using GZDoom only to play the classic WADs (Ultimate Doom, Doom 2, TNT etc) and minor WADs without particular mods or tweaks, like One Humanity. Recently I've been curious to try out Project Brutality using the latest versions of both the mod and GZDoom. Also, I'm running it all using DoomRunner. It always perfectly loads the menu, but every time I try to start a new game, only the level music starts. The main menu freezes and, after a few seconds, GZDoom crashes with a fatal error.

"Execution could not continue.
Failed to allocate memory from system heap"

I don't know what the issue may be, I've tried tweaking with the options but it still won't load.

As for the specifics, I'm on Windows 11 and I use a Zephyrus-GAB Laptop. Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS with Radeon Graphics.
Thank you in advance :)
