Scratch that, I found an all-in-one package, with all (monsters, objects, HUD weapons) 3D models working, even better textures, and it even has placement of 3D decorations edited manually, so they are placed in maps correctly (without this manual editing statues are often placed with their face or side to the wall), and many new decorations placed, like bushes or trees in open areas or decorative shileds on dungeon walls! And what's more, it has inbuilt Brutal Heretic RPG: it was a pain getting 3D monster models working with the Brutal mod but in this package it works out of the box!

Funny thing is that I couldn't find this thing by "normal" Internet search, I came across a youtube video showcasing this mod package, so I'm gonna leave the link here, and the download link is below this video on youtube:

Great work!

I have one issue, though. Maybe it's because these pk3's were built around 2010 and (G)ZDoom changed something since then, but if I load heretic-models.pk3, some weapons are not displayed when equipped. I looked into "Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt" within this pk3 and I can tell that the missing weapons are the same weapons that are defined in that file. That is:
- gauntlets (both powered up and not),
- wand (only not powered up. As soon as you use a tome of power, the wand appears on screen),
- phoenix rod (both powered up and not),
- fire mace (only powered up. It disappears when you use a tome of power).

As far as I can tell, all textures and models listed in this file are present in the pk3 just where they should be (Models -> Hud -> their respective folders), and their names are exactly as they are given in this file too. So I don't understand why these weapons are not displayed.

Maybe someone could tell me what I should change in Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt or in the folder layout within pk3?

A part of content of Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt by the example of gaunlets:

Code: Select all

Model Gauntlets
{
   Path "Models\Hud\Gauntlets"
   Model 0 "Gauntlets.dmd"
   Skin 0 "Gauntlets.png"
   Model 1 "Gloves-Bracers.dmd"
   Skin 1 "Gloves-Bracers.png"
   Scale -1.0 1.0 1.0
zoffset -5
   FrameIndex GAUN A 0 0	FrameIndex GAUN A 1 0
   FrameIndex GAUN B 0 3	FrameIndex GAUN B 1 3
   FrameIndex GAUN C 0 6	FrameIndex GAUN C 1 6
}
Model Gauntlets
{
   Path "Models\Hud\Gauntlets"
   Model 0 "Gauntlets.dmd"
   Skin 0 "Gauntlets.png"
   Model 1 "Gloves-Bracers.dmd"
   Skin 1 "Gloves-Bracers.png"
   Model 2 "Electro2.md2"
   Skin 2 "elec1.png"
   Model 3 "Electro1.md2"
   Skin 3 "elec3.png"
   Scale -1.0 1.0 1.0
zoffset -5
   FrameIndex GAUN D 0 9	FrameIndex GAUN D 1 9 FrameIndex GAUN D 2 0
   FrameIndex GAUN E 0 11	FrameIndex GAUN E 1 11 FrameIndex GAUN E 2 8
   FrameIndex GAUN F 0 13	FrameIndex GAUN F 1 13 FrameIndex GAUN F 3 13
}
PS Of course, I could just delete Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt from the heretic-models.pk3, and then all weapons are displayed. But I kinda want to see what the author made them look like, because I very much appreciate the work on the 3d-models of the monsters here, so I suppose the new weapon models also look cool.

I Have an Issue...

GzDoom 3.2.5 (well i have tested with this version the HQ textures)
The textures have too many problems to be compatible... becuse dont see any texture.

Frist example its Trilinear Filter
https://imgur.com/fDmkZEq

Second are Bilinear Filter
https://imgur.com/oHtEhdv

And Third are None (Trilinear - Bilinear) Filter
https://imgur.com/cvn1wV7

Also i have modified 6 or 7 textures resolution... beacuse it's seem horrible with the another resolution
And also on software seem's normal.
Greetings

UnclWish, you have already asked this question in the Wolfenstein 3D TC thread, and it hasn't been very long since you asked, either. Personally, I'd wait and see if anybody else knowledgeable comes along to help there, first.

Hello, All!

Sorry for offtopic.

On this resource is very high quality textures for ECWolf (512x512 walls etc.): http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php? ... 34&p=57577

Is anyone knows way to convert this HQTextures pack for use with GZDoom+Wolfenstein 3D TC? Or way to lounch ECWolf with OpenGL?

Thanx! Sorry for my english...

Not all of them. But even one is too many. ;)

I don't think he'll read your thanks, he hasn't been around for one year already.

For members that have download problems with mediafire.com links:

There is a free addon for Firefox that is named DownThemAll! and it works as a download manager. Install it and use it to download from mediafire.com links, sendspace.com links and few others (that don't have anti-leeching scripts).

Also to prevent lag and slow frame rate when using these packs, enable the precaching of textures in OpenGL options.

[edit]
I will add a sendspace.com mirror for hexen pack and then I will edit 1st post.

[edit2]
First post updated with mirrors.
Also why don't you try the open-source download tool: JDownloader
http://jdownloader.org/

I went ahead and put them (EDIT: Only the Heretic pack) on DRDTeam temporarily.

31 MB: http://files.drdteam.org/index.php/file ... n-pack.pk3

Also here is the sendspace link for the pack I threw together a while ago that works with Zdoom's software renderer, but I think it has problems when a new texturex lump is in a pwad. It's the same size, so i guess it has the same set of textures. Should work for the iwad or just new level pwads.

Zhihertex.pk3: 31 MB: http://www.sendspace.com/file/nivaai

Preferably a mirror that allows download resuming so I can have a chance?

Don't suppose we could get some mirrors could we? The mediafire links keep breaking for me before the DL finishes. :(

Methinks the Hexen ones better fit the originals. (The Ethereal Portal is just awesome.)

And with these packs comes the first time I've ever had a GZDoom slowdown. Wow.

Well anyway, thanks for posting these. :)
