Got the new OpenSuse and ran to another problem. Zdoom won't show video/gameplay.
Please help in anytime.

Its need to be locked but trying to think of why makes my head asplode. I'm going to play doom2.exe in DOSBox on Win95 to restore balance to the universe.

It really makes no sense at all to me why anyone would ever want to have a thread locked unless it's gone to Hades and really needs it. Exceptions being owners of project threads who decide to open up a new one, or something, I guess, but otherwise I see no need for such at all (and do see a problem when other forums adopt such silly policies).

I'm with Sodaholic here. This is valuable information, so I've moved the thread to General and preserved it.

Why is a lock necessary? Just because an issue is resolved doesn't mean a topic should be locked. Locking is usually done to prevent further discussion in bad topics, usually drama. I don't see any possibility of drama here.

Thanks Randy! Now i can play mods fit for that version. Now I request for a lock. Mods, your cue.

It's not a wine option or a console command. It's an option you add to ZDoom's command line. Since you seem not to be familiar with that, you can also edit it in ~/.zdoom/zdoom.ini

Just in case of what? Are you afraid people will insult you? This is a perfectly legit question, and people seem willing to give you assistance.

I am using Open Suse and it could let me open non-exe files into text so i'll do that. Thanks. (would someone mind locking it, just in case... :glare: )

EDIT: err how do you go to wine command and how does it look like?

More like 90% on Windows and 10% on Linux. I much prefer Developer Studio over anything I've run across in Linux. Whenever I think about doing something major with Linux like an OpenGL version of the Direct3D code, I think about how much it will suck without Developer Studio, and I stop right there. (I use my Linux machine mostly for leaning Japanese, rather than programming, these days.)

Anyway, your problem is probably because Wine has RawInput stubs that return success even though they do nothing. If they would return a failure, there would be no problem. Add +norawinput 1 to your command line once (it will be saved to your config), and it won't try to use the RawInput functions.

I assume you wish to run ZDoom in wine for one or both of these reasons: you want 32-bit graphics in software, or you're lazy. :P
Am I correct?

Huh?

Q: The title screen never comes up?
A: Yes, it never comes up.

Q: Can you get to the menu?
A: Yes, I can get to the menu.

Q: Specifically, is it just that no keyboard or mouse movements are being recognized?
A: Yes, no keyboard or mouse movements are being recognized.

Is that really what you are trying to say?
