Great work!
I have one issue, though. Maybe it's because these pk3's were built around 2010 and (G)ZDoom changed something since then, but if I load heretic-models.pk3, some weapons are not displayed when equipped. I looked into "Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt" within this pk3 and I can tell that the missing weapons are the same weapons that are defined in that file. That is:
- gauntlets (both powered up and not),
- wand (only not powered up. As soon as you use a tome of power, the wand appears on screen),
- phoenix rod (both powered up and not),
- fire mace (only powered up. It disappears when you use a tome of power).
As far as I can tell, all textures and models listed in this file are present in the pk3 just where they should be (Models -> Hud -> their respective folders), and their names are exactly as they are given in this file too. So I don't understand why these weapons are not displayed.
Maybe someone could tell me what I should change in Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt or in the folder layout within pk3?
A part of content of Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt by the example of gaunlets:
Code: Select all
Model Gauntlets
{
Path "Models\Hud\Gauntlets"
Model 0 "Gauntlets.dmd"
Skin 0 "Gauntlets.png"
Model 1 "Gloves-Bracers.dmd"
Skin 1 "Gloves-Bracers.png"
Scale -1.0 1.0 1.0
zoffset -5
FrameIndex GAUN A 0 0 FrameIndex GAUN A 1 0
FrameIndex GAUN B 0 3 FrameIndex GAUN B 1 3
FrameIndex GAUN C 0 6 FrameIndex GAUN C 1 6
}
Model Gauntlets
{
Path "Models\Hud\Gauntlets"
Model 0 "Gauntlets.dmd"
Skin 0 "Gauntlets.png"
Model 1 "Gloves-Bracers.dmd"
Skin 1 "Gloves-Bracers.png"
Model 2 "Electro2.md2"
Skin 2 "elec1.png"
Model 3 "Electro1.md2"
Skin 3 "elec3.png"
Scale -1.0 1.0 1.0
zoffset -5
FrameIndex GAUN D 0 9 FrameIndex GAUN D 1 9 FrameIndex GAUN D 2 0
FrameIndex GAUN E 0 11 FrameIndex GAUN E 1 11 FrameIndex GAUN E 2 8
FrameIndex GAUN F 0 13 FrameIndex GAUN F 1 13 FrameIndex GAUN F 3 13
}
PS Of course, I could just delete Modeldef.Heretic.Weapons.txt from the heretic-models.pk3, and then all weapons are displayed. But I kinda want to see what the author made them look like, because I very much appreciate the work on the 3d-models of the monsters here, so I suppose the new weapon models also look cool.
