Although not super dark/creepy, if you want a challenging mayan themed map then you should look at [url=https://www.doomworld.com/vb/thread/70845]mayan mishap[/url]
If you want something ancient egypty then definitely play Eternal's [url=https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/megawads/epic2]epic2[/url]
For something darker/creepy [url=https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/m-o/ma_put]putrefier[/url] may also be worth a look

Slipgate doesn't have music for me even though it says it includes it :?
I will also try other things you guys recommended since I like everything quake-ish as well.

Dimension Of The Boomed is basically Quake aesthetics ported right to Doom, with great level design to boot.
