It's happening with SPAWN.wad, my own wad, as well as another WAD I'm in the process of making. I've found the culprit. I usually run GZDoom with hi-res texture scaling set up. Changing modes turns the camera texture back on, but if the engine is restarted it goes to black again unless I turn off the scaling. It happens in both any scaling mode and with any renderer.
