Wonderful, our widescreen replacements look perfect now. Thanks!

fixed for real this time by aspect-compensating all images with a height of 200 pixels.

I can confirm that this feature isn’t working correctly yet for HELP screens in 21:9 as well:

I have updated the graphics to have proper pixel coverage to fill 21:9 now... same link as in the OP... (it used to be 474 pixels; now it's 560, as per advice in this thread). Thinking that the wrong sizes might've skewed the validity of my report - who knows that the wrong size might be throwing of the scaling code that GZDoom is doing - however even with the proper size, the original issue isn't resolved. The issue being, with the widescreen replacements, the image gets stretched horizontally and looks significantly different than their unmodded 4:3 counterparts.

Okay, I stand corrected. I was actually wrong in my other post; the image is NOT correct in the fullscreen console. You are right that console has always stretched to fit and indeed that also looks incorrect (the image is now too narrow) but you are right about it not being a good idea to change the console.

However, that's not what's being reported here. Have you seen my next post? The one with the image flipping between 4:3 and 16:9. The scale actually changes. I thought the scale shouldn't change. It indeed looks too fat in 16:9.

I assumed that the image will remain in the same scale, gradually revealing hidden pixels as the window size increases.

Yes, the full console always scales the image to fit the screen - it has always been doing that. Using the titlepic as console background has always been a crutch, but you know what'd happen if that was changed, don't you?

Here's an animation of unmodded (has pillarboxes) VS modded. Modded has the texture moved into /graphics/ in the Doom 2 filter folder.

Expectation: with modded, the image scale should remain the same, just with more detail filling up the left and right pillarboxes.

It looks incorrect for me, even after moving the pic into a "graphics" subfolder. Of note is that when the full console is up (achievable by opening the console at the title menu, outside of a level), the scale looks correct. [EDIT: I was actually wrong, see Graf's next post]

GIF animation comparison.

The image must go into a "graphics" subfolder.

What's the fix?

Works for me, after fixing the downloaded file.

Playing around with the fullscreen image scaling feature that just got added, I'm playing at 1920x1080 but this 21:9-compatible TITLEPIC replacement gets stretched: https://github.com/nashmuhandes/WidePix ... master.zip
