While thinking about the problems with the portals in Blade of Agony, and something that's been worrying me in my own maps, I was wondering if it would be possible to put in a type of portal that ignores map geometry and only renders the actors on the other side of the portal. This would be useful for places that would otherwise just use the line teleport trick, because you would be able to copy over some of the basic geometry and have the line be crossed without having to worry about things disappearing if the player, say, shoots a projectile or scorches a wall. If something like this could be implemented, it could be a lower budget version of an interactive portal...
