Post by adx »

I get this messgae whenever I run batch files (*.bat) in Win98. My command.com is present on C:\ and on C:\WINDOWS.
I get this messgae whenever I double click a batch file on Windows Explorer.

Open up Command.COM in Notepad and post what's in it.

[edit]
Command.COM may be corrupted, this happened to me a while back on my XP machine which had a 16-bit DOS error in Autoexec.nt. I ended up having to get a copy of the file off a friend to make things work again.

goto folder options and click the "file types" tab. look for batch file. redirect the program it opens with to the command.com in your c:\windows\system(32) folder.

The batch files work when you run them in the command prompt, anyway I re-install it. That fixed the problem.
