Doom Builder 2 thread

Post by CodeImp »

Doom Builder 2 has been released. See website. Anyone that has been testing Doom Builder 2 through beta versions or custom builds is recommended to completely delete this from their harddisk before installation the official release.

Any tips on how to use the codec? The movie shows up as a bunch of green shit. I can hear Pascal's voice, but the video is shagged.

Tried running it in Winamp and Media Player. I think I'll settle for the low-res version until I can get it working.

Drawing sectors over sectors in any shape, textured 2D mode background, node builder less 3D mode allowing to undo / redo geometry changes...

This is going to be damn awesome! :D

Can it be compiled on VC# 2005, or does its project file require VC# "I'm going to annoy you to death" 2008 and its stupid "activation" setup that's just a way for Microsoft to collect our personal infos? All the SVN activities recently made me want to try it. (Though I see from those vids the bug in 3D mode with linedef textures being stretched/squished to be displayed once by linedef is still there.)

Visual Studio 2005 can compile the DB2 source. And that texture stretching is not a bug, it is simply an unfinished 3D mode.

This looks great! One question: Any chance we could get a hybrid 2D/3D mode, now that changes can be instant in the 3D viewer? That would allow for making new geometry and having it instantly update in the 3D view shown alongside it.

The new drawing mode is going to make building complex architecture so much more intuitive. I can't wait to use this.
